ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I left at 6-1.
I`ve been involved with football for 51 years & have never left a game with 25 mins to go.
After the open mike night I thought this would be a decent game.
Maybe now MC will see for sure that he has to lose more than a $mil to be competitive in this league...

What sucks is seeing the heart and soul of this club either go down to Sydney or head up the F3 and replicate success there. In its' place is a squad who (for the most part) look like they don't give a shit. They resemble the CCM that caused the HAL to take notice as much as the current season of The Simpsons resembles the 5th season of The Simpsons.

adz comment about how they looked like they were waiting to get on the piss or sneak a couple in beforehand echoed a thought I had about this earlier, especially considering the worst-kept secret that has been the "culture" in the current squad.

This is what hurts me the most!!! Seeing Lawrie on the big screen celebrating with Jets fans as we are 8-2 down made me sick to my stomach!

I've never been embarrassed to be a Mariners fan until last night. This is the lowest point in our clubs history. If we don't invest some money and get some decent players who actually give a f**k then we will fold within the next 3 years.

Good luck Mulvey, you're going to need it!!!

It's not as if CCM don't have a history of saving their arses or winning games that cost the Jest dearly:

- Boxing Day '08, beat them at Hunter Stadium to end their finals hopes and they ended up with the spoon less than a year after being Champions (not even CCM managed that record!)

- 2nd last round of 2009/10- CCM had gone 11 games without a win, needed to win to be safe from finishing last. Washed out game was rescheduled and promptly took the Jest apart 3-0. Adelaide ended up finishing last.

- 2nd last round last season. Battle for the spoon against the Jest at home. Won 2-0 and effectively handed it to them (they lost to SFC away following week)

Point is that regardless of form, CCM have stood up in the past and put the effort in when there was nothing else left. They would've watched the Nix v City game beforehand and known what was at stake. From past experience and considering Mulvey watching on + it being the final home game of the season, you'd expect them to go all in and quite possibly come away with a win. They only had to not lose, that was it.

I'd never left a game early before this season, but done it twice in the last 5 months. Lawrie, Arnie and the players who built that great reputation of CCM are either gone elsewhere or retired. We've seen before that money to burn doesn't save a team from rubbish. While I'd love Charlesworth to do a complete 180 and spend the max allowed on this squad, first and foremost we've got to have people on-field and off who truly give a shit about the club and the community. Get that right, and results would change more than a lot of people might think...

Just noticed that earlier in the season our Goals Against was 4th, with only a couple separating most of the top 4. Up there with the best.
Now we're 3rd last. And last night made barely any difference - had we conceded 3 we would have moved up to be equal with WSW on goal difference.

At least we had one respectable stat earlier this season. Obviously the bunch of salary thieves called 'our team' considered that to be an unacceptably positive situation.

The positive start was what hurt the most this season, even when we lost to the Jets in the first round we didn't play too badly. We played decently if not well up until the last Adelaide game and after that we have not cared, apart from maybe a few cameos from Wales, Skapetis, Rowles and Kekeris. Seeing us disentigrate into last night after seeing what was possible earlier in the season was depression inducing.

After Liam being absent most of the season, when he came back I thought he'd turned a corner and was again on the improve. But for a bloke who's now played like 50 first grade games, I just don't know.
I’ll keep saying until I’m blue in the face, Liam should be played further up the park than he currently is. His skill set is good control, passing and awareness of what is around him, therefore he will always be unsuited to the DM role, as the needs of that position are very different. If someone bothered to put the effort into working with him off the pitch, I believe he could become an effective AM or No.10.

We are never likely to see the best of him in the way he is being played at present.

Does he have the vision to play through a packed defence though? Lachie Wales and Danny De Silva both have the instinct for a defence splitting pass but I'm not too sure about Liam. When ever he gets pressed he seems to just hoof it up field.

He should be playing state league. Simply too soft for this level.
