ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Still plenty to happen. Decisions yet to be made (or announced) on Galloway, Adelson, Poscoliero, Montgomery, Appiah-Kubi, Neill, Faty and Tavares and there is also the possibility of mutual termination.

Faty and Tavares are gone. So we have cleared the decks for 5 visa players.

There is a complication with Tavares though I thought. He can continue to be paid for two years from the date of his injury (paid for by insurance). Does that leave him technically on our books? Or does the fact that he is injured allow us an extra visa player as an 'injury replacement'.

It shits me the Members wank. Every Mariners fan Shaun. You don't have to be a member to be a die hard fan. (Yes I am a Member).
Wombat I'm sorry that it shits you, but I stand firm by my selection of words here so I predict I will probably shit you again next time I am quoted (in fact I hope I do because I know we would have a laugh together if this conversation was face to face rather than on a public forum).

It isn't meant to be a "wank" as you describe it as it is in no way implying that only members can be die hard fans (that is your assumption on what you think I was implying not mine).

The truth is relatively simple - It is a blatant plug and aim to improve the concept of membership.

Whilst I might believe that anyone who follows our club that closely that they will keep an interest in how Fab is going overseas is probably (like yourself) close enough to the club to understand the benefits of membership and as such become one. If I don't talk about members and membership then who will?

This is not about creating members with a sense of entitlement or that someone isn't a true die hard fan unless they are a member. In fact very far from it - the onus is on the club to create a membership product that appeals to as many fans as possible so they can become members.

This is a really good conversation to have and one I am keen to hear from our members and fans on. I do want our members to feel proud to call themselves a member but not to the detriment to any fan who doesn't feel that membership is for them. Getting this balance right is very important for the club, I will start a new thread on this for discussion and I believe that there is about to be some info sent out on an independent research that was completed on membership and our members satisfaction ratings.

Thanks for the updated list Big Al. Of the 10 players contracted Rose, Pain and Roux would have to be considered the only genuine 1st team players. The others can do a job on occasion or are squad players. Out of the 12 or 13 spots to complete his squad, Okon has to sign at least 8 1st team level players to put a competitive team on the pitch next season unless there is some miraculous development that is going to occur during pre season.

Think we have underestimated Powell who looked really sharp pre-season,we have played him out of form by playing him out of position. Think in the right set up could be a handy number 9. Ascroft, Berry and McGing never looked out of place and will get better with more game time. We do need 4 or 5 genuine starting players though. A keeper, # 9, and a winger to replace Fab are the 3 i would think are most crucial.....if Monty goes a DM is essential as well. If Posco stays injury free i am happy with him and Liam Rose at the back with Storm and Galloway. Ascroft is developing well as well but an experience CB would help.

I think Powell would be a good starting option as a striker. It allows Bingham to get much more development time then if we were to recruit a foreign striker who would demand much more game time and a fair chunk of the salary cap. Plus as both Powell and Bingham are already signed we don't have to spend any more money on a position we at most need 3 players in. Correct me if I'm wrong youth team watchers but Duncan Stewart has been seemingly doing pretty well? Could be another potential option there as well as Buhagiar, in my opinion we desperately need starting players in creative midfield, right wing, defensive midfield (especially if Monty goes) and centre back. Another preseason and Buhagiar/Berry might make their respective positions their own but we cannot afford to wait and see if that happens.

Kennedy failed fitness test allegedly.

Soccer Stoppage Time tweeted this tonight.

Kennedy replied - Didn't even know I had gone for a medical

Rumoured signing Sergio Cirio scoring a pretty difficult goal against Gamba Osaka tonight. If we're paying less than 200,000 I think we will have done some good business to get him.

Happy with the Cirio rumour and wouldn't mind McGowan (though I don't like him as a Socceroo he is decent at HAL level) would add experience and height at the back.
