Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Very possible.
They often got the numbers wrong both up and down......drawing a gauge from what they say is a 8k crowd.
It possible that they are too incompetent to give an accurate crowd and we have always just assumed that they have cooked the books.
Or more plausible is that people are not as good at guesstimating a crowd than they think they are?

Harry is in Victoria giving some talks and running some """ master class training programs"'' He is coaching a youth team in the EPL...

What about brining Harry to the club as a coach is some capacity ... he wants to coach in the A-League and he is arguably still the biggest name in Australian Football [maybe Timmy would argue] ..

Why, in the wide world of everything football, would it make sense to fire a guy who had had experience and success coaching youth and who has a season-and-a-half now, coaching HAL, in order to hire a guy who hasn't even got one season as a youth coach, when the prime charge against the first guy is "lack of experience"!?

And that's disregarding the stuff out of his control that he's being blamed for.

I did not say as the head coach ....

Now re consider is having Harry as a COACH In SOME CAPACITY a good idea..

Got to remember that a champion player does not necessarily make a champion (or even a good) coach.

Same as above as a coach in some capacity not the head coach...

Middy if we must replace our coach - replace him - but why would we spend money on harry as sone kind of assistant when he has little experience, our main problems are defensive, and we need to spend money on the squad?

Still love Harry but not at all convinced he'll ever be a quality coach. Said way to many silly things over the years - which as a player didnt bother me... But as a coach... It would.

Edit sorry you're right! Just realised what thread i'm in.

FP, repeating myserlf I never suggested Harry should be the coach I said bring him in in some coaching capacity.

I don't think he would be expensive as he wants to prove himself and secondly his name would bring players and would IMO have a massive effect on the Coast..

The only time I felt as a club we held the Coast was when we had Aloisi as a player our crowds were huge and his name dragged people in... Harry would IMO have a similar effect ... maybe put him in charge of the COE .... and see how he goes.. just don't rule a person out who almost everyone one on the Coast knows ... IMO worth a try ...

My comment still stands, head coach or any kind of coach. At the same time I'd be delighted to see him here, be happy for him to see if he had what it takes.

Hmmm fair enough, my apologies...
Still, tbh I'm not sure where he'd go... I don't really see the sense in pulling Hutch for him... He's certainly not a GK coach ;) or fitness for that matter...
Bearing that in mind, I'm not sure that it'd be a money spending venture that'd give us that much benefit... In light of his A-league career, such as it is, I would think it'd make more sense for someone like City or Victory... In fact, how about City gets him as an assistant and we get Wilko back - everyone walks away happy ;)

I do not see Harry as ready to be in charge of the COE in terms of coaching - but maybe in terms of 'running the academy', being the front man, attracting sponsorship to subsidise costs for the participants, one on one skill training.

I remember hearing that his gig at Watford wasn't going particularly well (losing the first 5 or 6 games in a row). But in more of a symbolic role with someone more experienced behind him like Damian Mori or Arthur Papas actually running the academy he could do well.

Hasn't he ever. That 3-1 win against Sydney when the away fans were next to us.

Bag 16 winding that guy up in bay 15 until he snapped and was dragged out in a headlock.
