ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Not sure what happened at the Wanderers game with "our" who do we sing for chant.
Have we handed it over to the Drivebys?
I for one really enjoyed previous matches at home when we went early with it to stick it up them!

I hate the constant tinkering, but the players have forced his hand recently getting suspended.

Liam Rose i think or Neill recently talked about us adapting our game each week based on who we are playing. This can be good and bad but we don't really have the cattle to play our own style no matter who the opposition.

So seems it's a two or three piece jigsaw puzzle move instead of one each time.

Next week will be interesting selections.
Must choose between Posco, McGing and Ashcroft.
Monty back so Neill to bench or LB?

Does this team want to improve to a top 6 team or fight for the wooden spoon next season and beyond?

Now is the time for an experienced coach to come in and replace TW, who can continue in his old position. TW hasn't had much to work with over the past season. But he has had his turn and the results are there for all to see.

The coach/ team need to bring in 3 or 4 more mature players who can lead by example and allow the young Austins to develop and become a sellable product.
Having the majority of the team young and inexperienced is counter productive to the philosophy of training young players and selling them on. All this does is destroy confidence and create average players. It will also mean the one or two diamonds like Austin will leave and go to the top teams who will develop him and sell on stealing our transfer dollars.

MC will say it's unaffordable to make any change but this new philosophy of attacking football at all cost with a team built on inexperienced player's just isn't working. We will continue to leak goals above the average and lose games until 2020 with Garcia or not.

There was a Dave Davutovic story at the new year about how clubs are using ASAs etc. so you get City spending 122% of the 'cap', the average club spending 110% and the Mariners having to overextend themselves after the floor was lifted but still spending just 91%.

So everyone's probably within the rules; it's just that the disparities between top and bottom are large and some clubs simply get better value for money than others.

That said, if the Mariners spent the additional $470k just to reach the average inside-the-cap spend of the rest of the league (that's about $25k per player!), you probably wouldn't see us 10pts clear at the bottom - we're apparently more than $400k behind either Newcastle or Wellington...

Just saying that through all the goo feasting with #WalmsleyOut and all that, it's hard to see us competing effectively when we spend so much less than the competition.

Still paying players who have left the club IS the biggest problem regarding what's available in Ca$h to pay current players.

Earning a '100%' wage you've just negotiated from the Wanderer's as well as a '50%' of your former wage on top of that from CCM, which was negotiated to 'get rid of you' ends up being a 'nice little earner' for a player ........ X that by 2 !!! and it's to our (CCM) detriment.

Apply the same system from above to a player who was on probably the biggest deal at the club and who was just 'sitting at home on the couch' until just recently picking up a gig with an NSWNPL club, he too is now getting 100% of an NPL wage plus 50% of his CCM wage. That has him 'crowing' all the way to the bank.

An ex NYL Coach sitting in the stands at the derby on the weekend, again STILL getting paid a wage every month.

Then the worst of it, an ex-international who left at the end of 2013/14 season, now playing 2nd Division in his homeland & STILL being paid.

Caceres seems to have had his contract paid out by the City Football Group +we got a fee.

Fitzgerald however is a completely different kettle of fish, may just have a similar fishy smell to it too???
God and MC only know. :-|

BUT what I do know is the lesson I've taken from all of this, in that whenever I read that a player has been released by the Central Coast Mariners I now know that there's the possibillity that, despite first appearances of seeing that player wearing another jersey for another team, underneath that jersey there COULD still be an 'umbilical cord' attached pumping him Y&B dollar'$.

I'm an idiot savant without the pesky savant bit
I tweeted the super coach today and suggested that with Royo the Boyo back for Victory , maybe he should play Roy and bingaz up front AT THE SAME TIME...it would give Luis some options methinks....

Tony wanted to play 442 early on but Hutcho and others put a stop to it and the spoon is the result.
With our defence and keeper.....a bottom 3 was assured regardless of the formation but I think with Austin and Fab feeding 2 strikers....we would not be below Nix and Scum.

Pull your head in super-nerd.
Who else do you think reigned in Tony's ideas of shock and awe....the ball boys??
I know you still go to bed in your Hutcho PJ's....but he wasnt that great a player and he doesnt appear to be that great an AC.

If Tony can't even choose his own formation, then he is indeed in the wrong bloody job.

We trust you even if you lose... but just don't use a 442?

If Tony as coach says he was pressured out of playing the system that he thought was right (which must have been very early in the piece) - pretty disappointed in him.

Pull your own head in. I'm f**king over your bullshit. I try to think about football and explain my thoughts on here and all you do is leap to the same f**king conclusion over and over again. I accept that I might be wrong, but you're never afflicted with such uncertainty, because if the answer's the same to every question then how could you be wrong? And feel free to shove your 'super-nerd' bullshit where the sun don't shine.

I love a good 442 but a midfield including Fabio, Austin and Garcia would create a 415 in effect.
Interesting to see the Hutch hate carry over from playing into coaching.

I'm over you princess!
Yes...I'm sometimes wrong. I thought Heff was going to be the business.
Not that I've ever heard u admit that some of the muppets you have supported have been shite.
I like 442 it's always worked for me....but its frowned upon now by football manager players like u. But for 442 you need a good keeper and a strong back 4.
I like defenders that pick up a player....not zonal enough these days.
I like a lot of things we haven't seen at CCM in the last 2 years.
What you like to do is snipe at people (middy is your new fav target) .....I can't remember the last time you critiqued a game.
At least Syd Mariner will agree with your every post (he will do anything to stop you abusing his posts)...you can share the cheese at the next game.

He never said that.

He was excited to have paddy and Heff on the end of Austin and fab.

He liked the idea of 442 but indicated others were reticent.

I was excited and my only question mark was he liked rose in front of Neill......which made me think he was planing on bringing on Austin in the second half.

Tony is a hugely likeable man who loves his football and I want him to be a success.

If Dibo sleeps in 'Hutcho PJ"s'

Then Hutcho sleeps in a 'Spenny One-sie' & dreams of breaking Noels record for completed passes to Vukovic. ;)
