ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Two goals and a draw against the world champions, maybe they were not full strength but we didn't have Cahill either. Future is looking good.

Ryan has been named goalkeeper of the year by the players in the league for the 2nd year straight. He got 779 points more than the second placed Sels, which is the largest difference ever.

God I hope we can keep him another year.

Here, have a link in moonlanguage with some pretty pictures and also a video: http://sporza.be/cm/sporza/voetbal/Jupiler_Pro_League/1.2344857

And his reaction: http://clubbrugge.be/nl/nieuws/20328/de-eerste-reactie-van-mathew-ryan

The Mat Ryan plan is going great.
A move to Europe.
Success with his club side, recognition as the leagues best keeper 2 seasons running.
Finish his contract then see who`s bidding.... fantastic.
Another millionaire from the coast...loving it!!!

RYAN LINKED TO ROMA

Mat Ryan’s incredible rise has seen him linked with a move from Club Brugge to Barclays Premier League giants Liverpool, but the Socceroo goalkeeper’s future could lie in Italy’s Serie A.

Belgian agency Het Laatste Nieuws is reporting a potential switch to heavyweights Roma and spoke to Ryan’s agent Mikkel Beck, who confirmed a move away from Belgium is very much on the cards.

“It’s true, several top clubs in Europe showed their interest in my client recently, including Italian teams. The situation will be more clear in the next few weeks. He can leave Brugge. The future looks bright for Ryan, but everything has to be organised properly,” Beck said.

Lukasz Skorupski is set to move on from Roma, while Morgan De Sanctis is approaching 40, but Ryan – who shone in Australia’s Asian Cup triumph and was named Belgium goalkeeper of the year for the second straight season - won’t come cheaply, with $11.45 million the fee being reported.

“He will be a top player for the next 20 years,” Beck said.

“Any transfer will therefore be considered thoroughly. It’s still not sure he will leave the club, he’s loved by everybody and he plays for a team competition for the Champions and Europa League. He’s in an incredible situation here. He has a great relationship with the club as well, but the next step for him will be something greater.”

Ryan’s former side - Central Coast Mariners - are reported to be due a sell-on fee of up to 20 per cent should Club Brugge part ways with the talented gloveman.

If that is true, someone in the club is a f**king genius, considering his contract was expiring.

It was done on the last day of his contract. The reason it could be done was that there were 8 or 9 clubs after Maty so the club had some leverage. Normally on the last day there would be no leverage at all.

Why these clauses aren't put in basically every player's contract I'll never know. It doesn't affect the player in any way what so ever so I highly doubt that a player or their agent would contest it.
It does affect the player. Clubs price up their acquisitions across the life of the contact - transfer fee paid (plus any bonuses to the selling club, sell-on clauses, etc.) + salary paid over the term of the contract - transfer fee earned. The fee and the bonuses etc. weigh against the player's salary.

It's *still* a fantastic bit of business for Club Brugge - they're going to make a shitload against the initial spend, but it's tremendous for CCMFC.

Ah didn't realise, cheers for the explanation.
