ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I'd rather hear the cannon 5 times than once. I'd also prefer not to loose my chips 4 times
But what really matters is how many points we leave with. If we won 5-4 every week Tony's job would be very safe because that means. 3 points and we didn't see a lot of that last year.

Not so sure I am convinced we are that much better than last year but I think the effort will be.

Goalies - Reddy still solid, Izzo an upgrade

Back four - still very weak but potentially hungrier. McGing has a lot of learning to do. To go from a midfielder to CB in the A league is a huge ask. Ashcroft unknown at the moment. We were really weak at CB and think we still are but am hoping the goals given up are learning mistakes and not effort mistakes like last year. Storm has platued and went backwards last year. Poscolario had great effort and would be a solid no 3 CB and back up RB but not first choice. Neill showed as much talent as weakness, needs to tidy up his game and make a bigger effort when we under the pump. Rose still solid but ageing. Bosnar lets hope teaches the young ones and is only seen at training

Midfield - much the same

Attack - definitely looks better if we can pull off these acquisitions

Hunger and energy - I think this will be our biggest improvement

Manager - bloody better be improvement

Saying you'd be happy to win 5-4 every week, yes I concede, say's he likes to 'watch football' thats entertaining & 'mathematically' it could (depending on your seriously low goal difference) win you a championship. BUT it also shows he doesn't 'understand football', statistics & commonsense proves that. Be happy if anyone can provide historical evidence of it ever actually occurring ......but I'd doubt it.

Mariners win 5-4 & during post match interview Tony Walmsley say's he was happy to win like that, by the skin of his teeth, 5-4 every week! How long do you think IT & for that matter HE'd last?

I dont think it's too hard to 'understand' that ANY team that concedes 4 goals EVERY week will soon enough lose a game .... & another .....& another ....

A) Wouldn`t winning 5-4 every week give you the same "goal difference " as winning 1-0 every week?
B) If Walmsley were to win 5-4 every week he`d win the Premiership so I wouldn`t think he`d get sacked for that.
C) If he won 5-4 EVERY week he couldn`t lose a game, unless we played mid-week maybe.
D) If we won 5-4 EVERY week we`d be no closer to losing than if we won 1-0 every week.

Sorry , it`s been a long off season.....

YOU ARE QUITE PERCEPTIVE HERE. BUT MCGING AND ASHCROFT BOTH LOOK SUPERIOR TO ANDO AND BOTH HAVE WAY MORE MOBILITY THAN BOSNAR. IM NOT 100% SOLD ON NEILL OR POSCO JUST YET.
THE BACK 4 COULD BECOME THE BEST IN HAL.....I'd Love to see Dutchy coaching them.

Midfield - much the same....STRONGER.

Attack - definitely looks better if we can pull off these acquisitions....AGREE.

Hunger and energy - I think this will be our biggest improvement......MOSS SUCKED THE LIFEBLOOD OUT OF THEM.

Manager - bloody better be improvement
. ALREADY LIGHT YEARS AHEAD OF MOSSY.

Everton have signed a new 2nd striker/winger/attacker from Uruguay called Rodriguez. Not to many no much about him but manager has suggested he won't be going to the 21's.

So maybe we are better chance for Mcaleny as he may have slipped further down the order and need to be loaned out now.

According to STT Andrew Nabbout is trailing with us this week.
That's a good option - I remember him absolutely tearing Sydney a new one in the match that turned out to be Ian Crook's last in charge. 2-0 to 3-2 up. The match was sponsored by beyondblue, but busloads of sky blues went home looking very down in the mouth that night.

Every goal McAleny scores in the U21's will have Martinez in 2 minds as to whether to keep him as a back-up as opposed to letting us have him or not.

Good call, if it was going to happen it should be soon. The fact that we are reported to be signing Heffernan and are now trialling Nabbout makes me more sceptical about this rumour.

Nabbout would be a great pick up as long as he is fit. He carries a bit of weight at times and might only ever be good for a few minutes here and there. If he is fully fit then a great match to our high tempo style earmarked for this year.

Is he under 21?
22. Answered my own q.

Conor McAleny any updates the EPL is going into its fifth round and I seem to recall he was to be reviewed in the final 6 weeks of the pre season...
