ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Really interesting to read this topic from the beginning!!
I'm sad Tony didn't make it and sad that MC hamstrung him so badly last season but that GG game was hard to ignore.
All the best Tony, you are a top bloke and you are always welcome at East Gosford Thai Massage for a cup of Ginger Tea or a massage.

Being such a good bloke was A big part of his downfall in the end. Unfortunately all too happy to give the players a cuddle when things are going wrong, and not giving them a bollocking when it was needed/deserved.
Good at youth level but need to have the balls to rip in when needed.
Club has learned from this though and won't be hiring another 'yes man' to fill the role.

Seems a really good guy, and pretty resilient. I think there's maybe more to come from him in football, just maybe not as a head coach.

Youth football or as an assistant is his go I think. But you never know could learn from this and come back a much better coach.

When was the last time a coach punted like that showed such grace and class to even compliment the squad he left behind and his successor?

I think he needed a hard arsed assistant coach like Lawrie had with Ferguson.

He was a brilliant front man. Hugely likeable and impeccable in front of the camera. It was the nitty gritty stuff he failed at.

He filled a position for MC that he wasn't suited to for the sake of the club so they could get themselves into more desirable financial position. Agree he seemed like a good bloke and the article backs this up but I can not see him being successful as a head coach in the future and nor should he have those desires. Probably best suited to the administrator role he initially had and should have stayed in.

Not entirely his fault but was way out of his depth and this provided ample ammunition to Fox Sports last year. Good luck to him in his future endeavours and I'm sure he can add something to football in the right areas.

You can already see Okon is providing credibility to CCM in the way people view us this year. I would have given up this year and maybe for good if TW was still in charge.
