ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

This is the best chant. It can be OUR chant...

With all this talk about a good chant that we can make distinctly our own, recently I've noticed a few people suggesting we adopt "Sailing" by Rod Stewart as our song. Today I was thinking how Millwall fans have adopted this tune, but with their own lyrics:

No one likes us,
No one liiiiiikes uuuuuuus,
No one liiiiiiikes uuuuuuus,
We doooon't caaaare!

We are Miiiiilwaaaaaall!
Super Miiiiilwaaaaall!
We are Miiiiiilwaaaall!
From the deeeeennnnn!

Then I had a brainstorm, and thought of this one. IMHO, this has to be the best chant so far, we take a famous tune and change the lyrics so that it's a song which sums up our team and the people who support it! Imagine a whole stadium singing this:

No one raaaates us,
No one raaaaates us,
No oooone raaaates uuus,
Weee don't caaaaare!

We're the Maaaaariners!
From Bay siiiiiixteeeeen!
No one raaaaaates us!
Weeee dooooon't care!

And then for the second verse we replace the lyrics with 'Na na na na' like we do in the second half of the "You are a bogan" chant.

Anyone else think this has as much legs as I certainly do?

yeah, but the issue atm is that the bay cant seem to string a decent song together.....should be worried about sorting that out before worrying about getting the rest of the stadium involved.

I agree, at times the bay effort *and willingness to learn new songs* is non existent.
fixed it for you

Don't you mean fixed it to suit yourself?

I have to agree with Keensy, we need new material, there's plenty of suggestions we've just gotta learn them and try them out!

If I hear let's go Mariners let's go 1 more time I'm gonna scream!

For example this is so friggin easy to learn and with a load of people shouting it would sound awesome :

No one rates us
No one rates us
No one rates us
We don't care
We're the Mariners
Super Mariners
We're the Mariners from the Coast

Even that would do just fine. I think this is really important though, it's time we got a chant which other fans will know as OUR chant. It would sound incredible, and it's easy to learn.

Honestly, next time I am at BT, I will print out HEAPS of song sheets with the lyrics on them and hand them around the bay. Only problem is, I won't be at BT until December again at least, so if someone wants to take the initiative, I'd be happy to return to the Coast to find the whole of Bay 16 (and other bays) singing:

No one rates us,
No one rates us,
No one rates uuuus,
We don't caaaaaare!

We're the Maaariners,
From Bay 16,
We're the Maaaariners,
We don't care!

:eek:verhead:

(I substituted 'From Bay 16' for 'Super Mariners' because it identifies more with the Marinators).

Song sheets don't work, making up catchy chants in the pub and in the ground does.

From bay 16 IMO doesn't go, we're singing about the club not us.

Enthusiasm 10/10, but to come up with an idea, say how important it is and then in the same breath say your not going to a game till December makes me laugh!

instead of "na na na" that part could easily filled with the more common words for that tune..."we all hate hate jet scum, we all hate jet scum...."

With good reason. Until December, I will be in Brisbane town. So, anybody coming up for the Roar game, we can get the chant started in our bay then!

(Instead of "From Bay 16" maybe "From the Coast"?)

Maybe we keep it simple, the FFA reference is of course to do with Danny and their ticketing disasters.

you never know, the Rangers connection might join in with the real words from the bench :)

Have we still got the giant Mariners shirt?

We need to bring that to the Newcastle game, as well as a good chant to get on top of the scum early. Their large banner during the GF looked alot better than our 'home made banners'.
If we have the shirt can we bring it into EAS Stadium?

Na f**k the FFA - they're c**ts ;)

Nero - yes we have the banner and will confirm it's availability in the next few days.
