Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Wonder if Muscat will get an extension on that red card by the MRP.

He would bloody well want to. It looks as though Zarah is in trouble.

That was easily the worst tackle i've seen in the 6 years of A-league. He purposley took the player out in a way you can only say was designed to cause injury. It should be the longest suspension seen in the A-League (danny excluded)

If he doesn't then the MRP should be disbanded.
How can simulation possibly receive more weeks off than that? And no, I'm not for a moment suggesting that Patricio did dive.
If that knee-capping happened in Belfast, Bono would write a song about it. :piralaugh:

Bullshit, Danny INcluded.
At the very least he should be suspended for the same number of matches that Zarah misses.

Fold beat Scum by a huge score and with the Inbreds winning by 7 our goal difference advantage has gone...

That Muscat tackle is definitely in the assault\GBH category.

Forget the MRP, bring in the Homicide Squad.

It's going to be an interesting few days to see whether the "known protected species" can survive the mass outrage - which will explode if the MRP doesn't rub Musc**t out for a sizable (hopefully career-ending) spell.

Even half the MVFC fans don't want him back (see the 'Sack Muscat' thread, which existed long before this sickening assault but has gone ballistic since). To the extent of some saying they wont attend further games if Merrick plays him again post-whatever-suspension.

Got to feel for Adrian Zhara. 20 years old and one month into his first professional contract. Was for 2 years with Heart. Hope he'll be rehabilitated and back sometime. You could see his ACL was done when the physio was checking his knee while still on the ground. Hope he sues the c**t.

Fitting if this is the end of Musc**t and he remains remembered for it, as it was unfortunately with for Zidane for the headbutt.

Just when the weekend started with the fun of a genuine 'Eight-bloody-one'

and yet again he appeals that he got the ball, what a f**king disgrace to the competition, seriously cannot wait until the MRP reveals the extent of the suspension.

Even if he did get the ball, does that give him free reign to commit a potential career-ending (for the victim) foul after?
Harnwell got the ball on Wednesday night but still got marched for the foul.

You can still get sent off for touching the ball first - heck, you can get sent off for a tackle that doesn't even touch the player.

Muscat is a lowlife, a thug, and a coward - I'd love to see criminal charges laid for nothing more than an attack and a deliberate attempt to end a young player's career. He's touted as being a hard man - this is utterly false. He's nothing more than a coward, and one of the biggest cowards ever to take the field.

He should've been banned a long time ago - he's taken far, far more out of the game than he's put in.

This tackle was atrocious and the injury was deliberate. For him to scream that he got the ball - then tell the ref to f*** off - shows the absolute lack of character from this lout. Committing that assault is one thing, at least have the balls to acknowledge what you did instead of pretending you didn't then abusing the guy who sends you off. He should receive a further week for that mouthful at the ref - but we all know that the FFA and referees take different attitudes towards referee abuse depending upon who says it.

I'll honestly be surprised if he receives anything more than 3 weeks, and very very shocked at anything more than 6 - but a tackle like this should see a suspension measured in years, not weeks - and that should prevent him from coaching next year too.

Surprising to see this from Muscat - he's usually smarter than this. He knows he's a protected species, so he'll usually commit tackles either behind the ref's back (knowing the MRP will blatantly ignore it), or ones where he may get the benefit of the doubt (like the deliberate face rake a few weeks ago, right in front of the referee's face) - he doesn't often force the referee to show the red like he did here.

Here's a big test for the MRP - just how little integrity do they have?

I already have no respect for that biased, cowardly, cheating bunch of deadbeats, but I can't wait to see what little suspension they can justify here.

Perhaps they'll invite him to the panel as an honorary member for his own hearing?

Muscat is a lowlife, a thug, and a coward...

...and a liar

Obviously instructed by MVFC or his lawyer as a result of the reaction to make a statement of contrition and remorse (more so than that showed as he disputed the card, blowing up at the ref) perhaps to try to soften the MRP and public opinion, this was the best he could do:

"It was a mistimed tackle, dreadfully mistimed"
"My only concern is the welfare of Adrian"

http://www.foxsports.com.au/football/muscat-regrets-zahra-tackle/video-e6frf423-1225993162329?subcat=1111112039253

Does he not understand that amidst the general condemnation there are even MVFC fans who won't attend further games and members who won't renew if he's still at the club.
