ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Pre-Season Games

That doesn't tell us a hell of a lot. I'd love to know if Caceres bossed it against a bunch of triallists or against our full side?.

What possible reason could the club have for keeping this game so hush hush? Worried we were going to get pummelled by Timmy?

Probably because it's preseason and as long as we're not getting tonked it's really all about getting patterns, combinations and rhythm. We'll see if the preseason has gone OK next week!

I know it's only pre season but this losing streak must be absolutely eating Okon up.

Hopefully he is getting what he needs out of the tune up games to be ready Round 1.

I dunno... Of course you want to win the preseason games but - the "losing streak" in preseason amounts to two games against WelNux and now a game against City.
Bearing in mind that Nux haven't lost any of their preseason games and they absolutely smashed City.... It's not brilliant, results-wise, but it's not a complete disaster either... Just one of those things I think, let's see how we go next weekend :)

Hearing that Cahill was the only "big" name to not play so if that's true there's nothing wrong with that result considering where we've come from. We dominated a big chunk for the game. Sounds like most of the first half if wombats story is correct. Also heard both City goals were very soft so that is a bit of a concern. Fabs goal was a penalty. The boys were pissed they didn't get a result.

Let's hope it gives Paulo some direction for fixing defensive issues then - that's what preseason is for anyway :)
Good to hear they were pissed about the result - might feed a fire when we next play City.

Shaun said it was Melb.City that were umming & aahing about playing.

CCM were trying to angle/work it towards Melb.City to come up and they would have played today at Pluim for the Fans Day but City at the last minute agreed to front all of our teams flights, hotel & bus expenses to play the game down there, so Okon jumped on it - with a flight late Thursday night .... played .... then flew back Friday afternoon.

Thus the reason for a very light training session today at Pluim, with most of those that got game time only doing half of what the rest + Academy guys did, hitting the showers earlier.

Remember, Cahill will be going into camp with Socceroos within days, prob requested to be rested ;), seeing he came off the bench in the last WC Qualifier.

His ego will be itching to start.

Also, the club are "Super confident" going into Rnd 1 against Perth.

Shaun was talking to LukeB Taylor & myself about how Glory are going in 'blind' for all of their first clashes, as Tony Sage has refused to fund any trips for opposition A-League clubs to go over there for pre-season friendlies and every other club, including us, said NO ! to going to Perth and having to cover our own expenses.

They've basically only been playing intra-club 11 v 11 (Youth, Squaddies) games and a few games against WA State League teams.

Kenny Lowe will have to rely on videos from Rnds 1- 9 to figure out what everyone else is doing formations & tactics wise as well as who's playing what positions, as a few of the other teams like City, Victory, Syd & Wellington are keeping their pre-season games off the radar (like the one we played yesterday v MCity), or like our games against the Nix that are just to expensive to go see/ no video etc.

So Rnd 1 PG v CCM,
T-minus 7 days & counting
..... Fire the Fark-UP ! :pirashoot::pirashoot::pirashoot:
