ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

He could get us into a GF with a goal against the Scum and then win the toilet seat for us with a blistering volley and I still wouldn't like him.

If he did that, I would like him enough for both of us :)

+1

I'd be happy the Mariners won, but I'd hate that our success would forever be linked to Sackwhack. If Muscarnt or Tiatto or Reddy linked up with us, I would feel the same way.

Sackwacker is a quality striker.  He is a f**kwit as a person BUT top player and just what we are missing.
As to Reddy he is a great keeper but would he want to be understudy to Danny?
Personally I quite like Reddy (ducks for cover).  Hard bastard as well as a good player.

Musc**t (great player) and Tiatto are simply f**kwits.

IMO there are plenty of quality players that the Mariners could do with who aren't f**kwits. I'd love to see Sergio Van Dijk in Mariners colours- he is quality.

I'd assume the Sackwhack wants a large sum of money and obviously wants to go overseas.

Van Dijk would be good. Someone who isn't afraid to have a shot from outside the box and actually can. We rarely have decent shots from outside of the box.

Sergio and Wellington's Ifill have impressed me this season. I think both would pass the Club's 'no dickheads' policy.

Just say no to sackwhack. I would rather lose then go the way of the dark side. The guy is a c**t and a dunce.

+1 We don't need to go to the dark side to be a good team again.

i personally am quite a fan of tiatto, hes one of the few firebrands i could watch in yellow, considering his mean right peg, just the kind of presence weemac needs, cos he aint got it from hutch, and travis is his wingman

dreams are dreams jedis gone, ive thought about it too, but its not happening move on

Been some good posts in the thread, to many to quote/reference.

Imo, we are 3 key players short of a title winning team it would seem. And then when you look at an underspent cap and no Marquee... those arguing this point, it does seem to have considerable weight.

That said I also agree that we seem to have a complex and indeed choke whenever we are doing well, which is usually/amazingly at some point during every season - and as Scottmac says, the tail end has not been our strongest.

Personally I'm of the opinion that most human beings I have ever met, myself included, could do with psychological assistance and that mental preparation. And when it comes to elite athletes and the various pressures and situations they face... I think in this day and age that that kind of support for professional teams should be a no brainer.

I don't approve of abusing our players, but I would like them to be able to shrug it off easily, and to laugh at Sydney's self styled lordliness and then enjoy thumping them for it.

One thing is starting to emerge is that the players now are starting to think the grass is greener on the other side and silverware wont be coming to BT soon.
In the wash up the mistake was not in signing Doig but not getting a specialist backup for him.
I would like to see Crowell play in the back line except we may see some penalties

Its pretty obvious just looking at current crop on the park looking so disinterested and Lawrie McTwitter having no ideas when the going gets tough

Smells like bullshit conjecture from two of the most consistently negative posters on this site  to me.

But even _IF_ so.. they almost had the league by the ball 5 weeks ago? So they'd be extremely stupid to think the only place they could ever do well is somewhere else and are indeed in need of a sports psychologist. We've been one of the more consistent teams in this league and are showing very good development and vision as a club. Though I'll give you some of our negative bitch ass supporters would probably be easy to leave behind ;)

Grass is greener... pfffftttt...

Your being paid to play football and live on the central coast?
Get some perspective...  unless your a considerable talent, it just doesn't get that much greener.

Disinterested?

Please explain as all I can see is a lack of belief, a lack of confidence and not enough mongrel. That isnt disinterest.

Lawrie doesnt give away penalties as dumb as Bojic's against the Nux, he doesnt miss from 2 feet either

. if memory serves me correctly it was lawrie who broke our scoring drought back in season 2 (?) with a goal in the celebrity match

. maybe he needs to kick one of our forwards hard enough up the arse that he needs to sign himself as injury cover ... then he can show 'em how to score from 2 feet

I really only got an interest in soccer through my kids and evn though I've learnt a lot I still have a lot to learn so please excuse any dumb comments.
I have been going to as many home games as possible since the preseason of V1.
As to this game:
1. I don't think anyone gave up until the second half. In fact my husband and I commented that Travis looked like he was enjoying every second. He had a smile on his face.
2.I don't care how old Gumps was or that he has had injuries. The club has stuck by many other injured players. when the boys needed sparking up he would have done it. His experience and determination would have done a lot. And others around us were saying the same thing. I remember one game when he injured his knee and went on playing for the good of the team.
3. Porter deserves a huge pat on the pack since he went off injured in the warm up.
4.We were perhaps 3 metres behind Lawrie and couldn't understand a word he said. Dont know how the boys on the other side of the park would have any hope.
5. Bojic looked like he was saying "get fxxd" to Lawrie.
I still enjoyed the evening and am looking forward to the next game.
