I wouldn't sack McKinna. If a shit manager comes in, everyone will regret it, then we will be cycling through managers for four seasons like Sydney did.

I like the stability. I just think the players need to turn up every game.
When they turn up and play quick one-touch football, the results show that they are just as good as any team in the comp.

On Thursday night, they didn't turn up. They looked to me as if they didn't care about the game or the 11,000+ fans that turned up. Then players were holding on to the ball, taking the wrong option, shooting out of frustration and not marking.

I wouldn't be sacking Lawrie just yet.

Actually, I think its a mental issue more than a coaching issue.

We choke if we are perceived as doing well, thats some sort of inferiority complex or something (not my field). We need an arrogance/mongrel that we seem not to have.
Dump the no dickheads policy (if there is one)........

I can think of 2 brothers looking for clubs right now

The year we won the premiership was by default. We certainly didn't "win it" we recieved it because no-one else was good enough to take it from us.

That's a fairly stupid and one-sided way of looking at things.

The side with the most points wins. From memory, CCM were miles ahead of the otehr sides in the comp for the first 2/3 of the season. Having a poorer final 1/3 of the year doesn't take away from the whole.

If the stuff about not being able to spend the cap is true, it's hard to judge McKinna. The least he can spend on players is $1.912mill. Compare that to total allowed payments of $2.650mill. That's a massive difference.

It is stupid, and one sided, but its true. We were miles ahead and ended up winning on goal difference after our last game of the season. It was lucky that QLD put in their worst performance of the year against Adelaide for us to have won it.

This "zomg, they played for our mortal enemy (pft)" attitude, honestly..... just why??  If they bang them in for us, then who gives a shit??  At the end of the day, a goal is a goal, is it not??

You think I cared one little bit that Owen was ex-Scouse when he scored in the Manchester derby??  Or that Sasho was ex-SFC when he scored in the semi against Newcastle??  F*ck no!!!!

If Griffiths is prepared to play for us and score goals, then sign away.

What would be wrong with singing Griffiths if he scores goals??  He's got a proven track record, why would it change if he came here??

Disagree with Last years assesment - Still think we could have won it if we had Jedi.... and to be honest all wearereally short on again this year is a Jedi style player and a target forward.

Imagine Weemack and Travis and Jedi in the mids with a target forward up front..... ahhh we can dream can't we

. most of the last month i have found it very hard to get this thought out of my mind

. yes, a dream ... but what a dream!

. yes the mental side of things is tricky (and worrying)

. as i just mentioned in another thread ... i wouldn't underestimate the effect of the officiating in the last few games. ok it probably shouldn't but i reckon it is having an effect ... and like all self-doubt and hesitation it becomes self-fulfilling

I think we have a good squad but do lack in 2 or 3 areas which is hurting us. I think an older experienced player who has played at the very top level is essential. Doig is an obvious example of this and when he is playing we do look more organized. The guys we have got in have talent (wee-mac,Travis,Crowell,etc) but don't at this stage have the leadership skills and looking around most of the rest of the squad the guys are pretty young. It was obvious Paul Ifill was the main difference between the 2 sides on saturday night. We need another striker, a regular scorer in the mould of a sasho or a mori. The guys we have have their merits but are big, strong guys who hold the ball up and we need someone to play off them. Also, i think at least another specialist defender so we have a bit more cover when guys are out. Regardless, what we have is what we have, at least for this season. Lot's to be optimistic about, Brown to come in, Heff,Boogs, Danny, Doig, returning. A win on Saturday will give us hope for the run in and hopefully see us get into the top six. I for one will be in the stadium cheering them on, win, lose or draw.

A forum is for conjecture.

The stadium is for passionate support!

If Lm wants to go up stairs there is another Ex Aussie coach available. And he can unearth a good youngster. (plus after xmas i need a new drinking buddy)

Now on the subject of griffiths I doubt if anyone would object to him banging in a goal against Scum and taping his mariners logo to the squadron.

What's wrong with signing Joel Griffiths? Sure he can score goals, but even ignoring the fact that he used to play for the shit up the F3, the other fact is that he is a whingeing, diving, scrotum-grabbing scumbag. I don't want a merkin like that being associated with our club.

To be honest I'd rather him than some of the oxygen thieves we have playing for us.....

To be honest I'd be happy if we snapped up ex-Scummers like Nicky Carle or Milton Rodriquez- but not sackwhacker. He could get us into a GF with a goal against the Scum and then win the toilet seat for us with a blistering volley and I still wouldn't like him.

If he did that, I would like him enough for both of us :)
