ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

New striker???

Ok, soooo Mike Cockerill's put it out there that there's a new striker on the cards..... Who's guessing who??

Personally I'd love to see someone who can not only poach goals, but someone who can score from outside the 18yd box as well!! I can't remember last time we've scored from a decent shot outside the 18.... Would be great to have that kind of ability between the boys and be able to mix it up a little!!

Arnie talked about a guest signing earlier on... But we need rather another striker on a two year deal.

ANYHOW...

Don't care about the name really - never heard of Perez till we were signing him.
ABove all needs pace and the ability to run at players and skin them.
Also a creative mind set that could best benefit from players like Perez, Weemac and Ollie would be optimal.

But yes to be able to strike from outside the box would be a nice change.

NOTE to Arnie - NOT a Danny Allsopp type please.
Rather in the line of Archie Thompson thanks.

What I wouldn't give for David Williams. *SIgh*
Hope Arnie made a call in the last 48 hours to NQF.

Viduka would be epic. Perez short pass to viduka and big dukes puts a pinpoint pass to Perez running through and he scores. Ooooohhh I can dream

We've already got two players in vidukas mould. Surely we don't want another

As the October 1 deadline passes, Arnold will be able to approach any A-League players out of contract at the end of the season as he starts to build a squad he can truly call his own. In his sights are "a couple of good midfielders and a quality striker", the latter being a quicker, more mobile one to complement the bustling frontmen he currently has at his disposal.

Great story article. I recommend reading it all.

He reveals he even tried to sign Chris Payne, another Coastie, who instead joined North Queensland Fury days before Arnold made contact from South Africa.
