ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

New Owners?

Ok, it`s good news and news we all hope is true but I`ll believe it when I see him dressed in our colours and sitting at a Mariner`s game.
We`ve been burnt before by rumours of Russiaans,Chinese etc.so i`ll remain cautiously optimistic.
At the very least it`s a sunny break on a cloudy day, something to warm the heart....
Thanks for the heads up Pirate Pete

The wife was in Erina Fair today and "Mrs Helou" was talking to her when she mentioned tha Mariners. Apparently he is buying a 90% share and putting the other 10% as community owned. The owner of Aroma's in EF volunteered to buy the 10% there and then lol. Lots of talk about excellent youngsters but we need to recruit some experienced pro's of excellent quality to lead and develop them. Fingers and everything else crossed!

So the community fund needs to be in the range of $400k I guess. Doable for sure.

Club ownership will probably be separated just like Charlesworth.

Where are you getting those figures from?

That's what i was told Pat.
Having said that I have heard various figures mentioned. Pikey should be infront as he sold a lot of the office space already and as Cafe states the Govt gave him a very decent leg up.

Yes, that makes sense. In which case $400k is easily attainable. It will be interesting to see what model Mark B comes up with. Designed and marketed properly this could allow us to have our highest ever membership drive.

A new owner and some decent signings would give a heap of momentum towards rebuilding the supporter base. Not expecting world beaters in this economic climate but a few key signings to show intent would be huge for us. Picture resigning Birraz and adding a quality striker, attacking mid/play maker and CB. That would be huge for us and give a platform to market and grow from. Unless we have a really charismatic killer signing chuck the armband to Ziggy, he's familiar, one of our best last season and has a character that resonates with the central coast.

Just look at Leeds United in EPL for a guide.
