ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mick one of these players will have to be in the 1st team because they will be one short my guess would be D'Apuzzo. Gives us someone on the left.

Sadly, Smith looked a fantastic player until his brain snap. Cant argue with the red really.

Who was the guy wearing 13?? Runs just like Tommy, same style and everything. Him and the kid in 10 were stand outs for mine

13 was Laurance Braude and 10 Glen Trifiro

thought 17 Sean Mitchell looked the goods as well

all three had skill and technichal abilities coming out of their backside in bucket loads

queensland beat melbourne 2-0 in the other game

Agree Mick, those 3 are real prospects together with Smith.

Sherlock was a bit shaky to start with but really got much better as the game went on.

Everyone will have to excuse my ignorance with ths question as I'm not familiar at all with the Lightning/Thunder programs and the development of local talent.

I'm disappointed there's only one local boy Brady Smith. Do I have this right? I am sure the management would have contracted local boys if they were good enough. Do we have a serious problem with our juniors on the Coast? Surely there must be 3 or 4 good enough? Anyone?

The U/20's Lightning are in the second GF in a row, so surely were producing them.

i think you'll be surprised at how good this league will

plenty of locals tried out against the sydney boys and only smith cut the mustard

making the grand final of a lower division state league youth grand final does not stack up against boys who were playing NSWPL and were in the AIS

On that note is this where the mariners academy is heading - playing in the NSWPL. It kind of makes sense having your best juniors playing against the other best juniors in the state and the youth side with a sprinkling of fringe/players returning from injury main squad players playing the top grade. Having said that I have no idea what it costs to run a NSWPL club and whether the costs would outweigh the benefits. I have also heard along the grapevine that Lightning is dropping down another level but I don't know how true this is. Also I am very new to football and don't even know if Football NSW would accept an A-League club.

Not the first time for Brady alas, he is a little prone to that some times, especially when I'm at the venue (every time I see a game he's in he gets sent). I agree Mick it was a bad challenge, can't go in like that but everyone else seems to think it was harsh.
I thought Sherlock was interchanged back on though?

Really enjoyed it, I think this league is of a really great standard and I'm looking forward to following it, everyone should get out there, I think it will really develop from here, was talking to one of the Mariners players before the match and he was excited by the league, but really didn't know anything about it, or the opposition, I think that showed, you can see that it's got the best together and they're used to playing teams that aren't as good.

As an aside anyone know where I can get match stats? BOTN were good but they only did the one match. (Which still makes them the best)
