ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mariners Preseason 2019

don't see us doing any better than last season! and the one before that etc. etc.
Bit harsh to judge off a few games generally without our best 11 on the pitch at the same time. We still have a visa slot to fill and plenty of time in preseason. If anything we’re at a much better place if you compare the shambles that was last season. We’re still a week out from where we were last season when we announced Oar and McCormack.
We’re going to have to fight this year and not having the deep pockets some clubs does makes things harder but there is no reason we can’t be more competitive.

'he looked alright' mate, tbh, he is no better than our own Academy boys!
Apart from Nizzy, Silvera and Stensness who are all on scholarships, we have Hatch, Ruiz-Diaz, Ballard, Johnson and Jevtic as midfielders in the Academy who are all as good or better than Skotadis and more versatile. In answer to Jacob - he has played a season with Majok at WSW and considering the positions they both play should have a good understanding with each other. That was obviously not the case last night.

Are we becoming WSW II? How did Silvera end up in U23's Young Socceroos? He is 18 correct? You cannot tell me there were no better players in the whole system to choose over him? Olyroos is his age and level. Seems WSW discarding unwanted players onto us and our own boys getting shafted. Smells tbh what/who seems to be steering the Mariners ship atm especially as you say we have our own Academy midfielders who are 'all as good or better than Skotadis and more versatile". Our own boys have been overlooked and treated unfairly. That's the way I'm seeing it.

Was he not at Sydney FC last year?

I'm an idiot savant without the pesky savant bit
Calmest most consistent footballer on the park tonight. Kept our team cohesive. So arrely mishits a pass or makes a bad decision. Covers. Played through balls. Literally made his first actual error in the 79th minute. Incredible. Great game. He's ready for HAL.

I'm no longer feeling optimistic about Majok..
Majok waste of funds
Majok waste of a starting position
and potentially a Majok disaster

There was a guy in there at least 120 kilos. You just don’t get that in NPL1 and most likely NPL2.

These guys were NPL3 standard or lower. CCU would give them a run for their money. Their passing was abysmal, they had no composure, and their mobility were poor. I thought the Mariners were making them look very good.

Last night's South Hobart team was a combination of NSW NPL U/18s and NPL3. South's best XI would be top of NPL2 NSW as mentioned above. Only the 2 full backs, 1 centre mid, and maybe 2 more (ST and 1 CB) would make South's 1st choice XI. Every sub brought on was under 18, hence the U/18s reference.

Devonport playing Maitland next weekend will give us a good gauge.

Yeah, bottom line, our football just really wasn’t anything you could be excited about. And our forwards are under performing.

Everyone knows it’s not our starting 11. But it’s a little rattling not being able to see our best 11 all playing together yet and these games have not been very helpful in making you feel like we at last have the squad to finally turn our fortunes around. (Though we might do).

Still... clearly a lot further on than last year. Much fitter and better organised even with triallists and mostly second string players.

I'm kind of torn, his movement is quite good and he gets himself into some great positions but his touch and execution were very poor in the Tassie games. If we can improve his skills at training he could be a very useful player. If not he'll end up on the bench.
