Having an educated Guess

Pot 1- South Africa, Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Germany, Netherlands, Italy and England

Pot 2- Remaining European Qualifiers.

Pot 3- Asian Teams, NZ, Uruguay, Paraguay and Chile

Pot 4- North Amercian Teams, 5 African Team


This draw is all dependent on Uruguay defeating Costa Rica on Thursday.

Last World Cup they were done on Confederations so that only European teams could meet each other and no other confederation could play another team from their Confederation in the group stage. It might mean the Pot with Asia, NZ and the 3 remaining South American teams is pot 4.

Last World Cup they were done on Confederations so that only European teams could meet each other and no other confederation could play another team from their Confederation in the group stage. It might mean the Pot with Asia, NZ and the 3 remaining South American teams is pot 4.

It will still be done like that as well with past WC performances being the over-riding factor. Happily the region factor will probably mean we will get a pot 3 level.

There is no way NZ will be anything but pot 4 whichever way you look at it.
