ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

will Sydney now tell Bridge they are cutting his wage ????

I cant see to many boys coming home for $150k, great to reward guys like Boogs etc that have grown in stature as valuable players.

It is 150k outside the salary cap. You could pay them 300k, but 150 would be in the salary cap.
Hence someone like bridge at sydney will have like 10k in the salary cap, 100 odd outside

they might have to pay them minimum wage under the salary cap though

Don't see why - normal marquee's don't have to have $35k under the cap.

TBH I find this rule a little bent. I'm happy to see Burns, Djite, Vukovic, Boogaard, Zullo, etc etc head overseas when the right offer comes in. If they do a Milligan and bail out before they even have a new club, that is their own fault. But at one stage or another they must leave us to accelerate their development.

It's the guys like Archie (ok well he is a marquee anyway) and Joel Griffiths who I think we should be striving to keep in Australia. They are too old to ever develop into world class players, but keeping them here raises the quality of the A-League and brings the crowds in.

I'd rather see clubs let the wunderkids go one year earlier and invest more money into developing the next five of them OR money spent outside the cap as a repatriation fund for fringe Socceroos such as Jacob Burns. Those are the types of guys we should be trying to get in our league.

FW Matt Simon - lol our youth marquee ??

I'm on a special system. I actually pay the Mariners for game time, and for every goal I get a free meal at Mingara.

Needless to say I've never been to Mingara.

that was the first name that popped into my head too...would be great to get him...whats his situation like at newcastle??? last i heard was he was considering his options as he was getting no game time and a step down in class was a possibility...doubt  a step down to a-league though :(

would love to bring in a forward too...rukavystya or djite would be my line of thinking as i cant see ollyroos that are already o/s coming back which could make the competition for those that are already in the a-league very fierce

ultimately i'd say boogs/danny would be in line to be our first youth marquee
