I thought Theo defended hard and tenacious, but the moment that stood out for me was when he did a fantastic run down the left win, suckered his defender in and then did a completely unnecessary step over before laying it off to Tulio who had a chance on goal. The step over caused the timing to be off and the ball was intercepted.

Saw the first half live and just watch the second. While I'm happy for both Wilson and Reec in scoring, we did get a tad lucky on both. Wilson absolutely smashed his shot but it was very close to the keeper and could've hit him. Reec's shot also close to the keeper although it did swerve maniacally.

On another day those both get saved.

Definitely deserved the win though. Fazz and Max outstanding and plenty of other good performances. It certainly looks like MJ is starting to build something.
As long as they cross the goal line they all count.Maybe a better keeper might have saved them but who knows.

He does those bloody step overs repeatedly He thinks he is Christiano Ronaldo who could do those without appearing to lose any speed but unfortunately Theo does lose speed and what you described often happens.Possibly Jackson is now aware of this and will tell him to cut it out.

MJ stamped out Torres" constant cut in and shoot from the right wing, so that's a plus that he identified and coaches things quickly.

Reec has clearly jumped DWH in the striker pecking order and I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see him start over Kuol if Kuol keeps having games like that.

Mick said it very well previously, he left as a sub, trained at a club but barely played and everyone expected him to come back significantly better.... Why?

Ahhhhhh so did Reec....

Probably already all been said but l reckon that was one of Maxi's best ever games for us. He was superb all game and immense in the build up to the Wilson goal. Glad to get that first win under our belts. Was the exact kinda game we needed because the scum are absolute f**king garbage and will do well to avoid the spoon.

Just watched the replay and reasonably pleased with the result.
Get a win next week and we are in a similar position to where we were last season. Two wins in the first six rounds.
I was pleased to see Torres on the left and thought he combined well with Fazz.
Wilson looked a lot better, the absence of Theo made for a more flowing attack which can get a lot better.
Another similarity with this time last year was the questioning of the abilities of some of our new signings, all who started in the grand final.
I am not going to make predictions in order to say I told you see but will quietly watch the development.
Nizz clear MOM 3 points.
Fazz 2 points.
Storm 1 point.

. I assume you scored Max with more than 3 points and the system over-ruled you

:)

I thought that was his best ever game also. Not because he scored a couple of worldies etc. rather all the less glamorous stuff done to perfection, movement, reading, strength, balance, passing, timing… it wasn’t a Max played a “good game” “or out of his skin” it’s just that now all the thing he’s mostly done well already, truly coming together and going up another level.

Niz was also great. But Max was outstanding.

Best midfield partnership in the league imo. Long may it continue. Just need to strengthen our attack.

Also our backline looks a lot better with Hall over Paull and Storm over Doka.

I called the Hall for Paull, Storm for Doka and Torres wide Lm move weeks ago. (Oct 29)
I was happy with Hall’s game considering the limited minutes he’ s played in the 2 seasons. The Wilson goal was fortunate for him but well taken and hopefully gives him a lift. On the Reec goal it looked like his pass to Tulio was passing his obligation on, im glad Tulio got it back to him so he had to shoot. Full credit to his effort though. Personally I like DWH but a swap for Goodwin would benefit both players.

The shift of Torres to the left has removed the ‘cut in and shoot’ move, increased the ability to pass to a central man on occasion - but damn it looks like he’s never tried to hit a shot on target from that side of the field - radar was on malfunction last night.

At the moment I don`t think Torres could get a kiss in a brothel with a $100- note, but he did have an improved game last night....

Problem is he tries to kick the leather off it everytime. Someone needs to show him a video of Theirry Henry's finishing (not the handball). This kid will be better than Beni but he IS frustrating atm.
You can see the coaching staff get frustrated with him, even Tulio does. But he obviously shows enough for time to be spent on getting the best out of him.
Playing on the left is the way forward for him, so much more effective.
