Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Up against top of the league in front of a strong home crowd on a public holiday for them, you take that point and run every time. Would be good if we worked on providing big Edmo with some service into the area, he's making good off the ball runs into space all the time and no one looks for him.

Last game he could have had two tap ins as well. We've been asking for back post runs. His have been timed perfectly. Torres is not always going to score and he has to learn how to look and play in his team mates in as well.

A lot of other coaches (who haven't worked out how to play us) will learn from today's game. It is now up to Jacko to introduce some way through the parked buses I expect we will see in increasing numbers.

Very true, but fortunately I'm not sure most sides have the Nix's level of discipline so I'm not as concerned. One thing seeing it, quite another consistently doing it, but they certainly showed how to contain Torres.

I do think if we had Steeley or Tappy back so Niz could be played forward again we'd have had a better chance of unlocking them. Edmonson and Kuol can and will work together imo but we'll have to give them a chance to be running at balls and attacking them. Can't all be dribbles into the box and never sliding it across. Kuol was given one cut back an almost got onto it. MJ is obviously and Edmonson fan so interesting to see if drops Kuol to bring Niz forward once Tapp is back. But we have a lot of football coming up.

Thought Reec was excellent off the bench and Barcellos had a couple of good moments and looks promising. DiPizio also very strong, excellent defender for such a young attacking player. Was hoping to see Brandtman again. With so many games great to have this depth and interested to see the rotation coming up. With such a tight game Jackson was conservative with his subs tonight. But surely going to see a deal more over these next three games.

Nix are a very disciplined side, and so are we. Very little separating us, so that was a very good away point.

Jingo got into a great position near the end also. Torres could easily have hit him but chose to run down a blind alley.

He let rip a verbal to Torres in the second half as well because he was open and ignored back stick and made a run to the middle.

Torres will need to learn these things agree but when you’re on fire like he is you can understand the want to do it all because you feel unstoppable.

Also a heap of nix on the box making the cross difficult to make the pass but we needed to try just to loosen them up a bit.

Nix game plan was to sprint back to make the box flooded so was extremely hard to break down.

We learn and move forward. Our 3 best shots were in the dying minutes so we were still fighting to win

Only us and Nix can defend as effectively as was on display yesterday. If other teams try to contain us this way we'll do what we always do, move the ball from side to side stretching their structure until a hole pops open and burst through the channels

Tough game to watch, the walking pace was boring at times. That said, it was a real chess match. Both teams disciplined from start to finish, defended to perfection and tried to take it to each other when either side tried to press. Really even game. The heat and the very recent game in the heat in Adelaide slowed us too I think.
It's great to see the teams in yellow dominate.

We're still getting better so think we'll win our next game and against them. We both have players to come back though.

Should be favourites against shitney - but no game is a given. We're clearly a top team regardless.

For a nil all draw I actually found the game quite engaging, it was a tactical battle both sides were too scared to lose. Big Ed has shown lots of promise in his hold up play, like others have said can't wait to see him up top with Niz and Tappy back into the middle. We'll get them back at home!

Such as? Saving legs for a busy schedule?
Saving legs would have been a reason to make more subs earlier. If I had to guess why it might have been around settling for the point and knowing who was comfortable with the pace of the game & opponents. Swapping out Doka could have been an obvious sub but we didn’t.

Presumably we will see Storm & Di Pizio for Saturday. Not because anyone deserves to lose their spot just man management. Unfortunately our CM stocks are down atm as one of both could have used a break.
