Great result, but we NEED WORK Holger.

I thought Mile was very ordinary last game despite the goal.
But he was fantastic today, excluding three give aways of the ball in the second half with which he must do better. But without his goals, we well might not be going through to the quarters - let alone topping our group.

Well in Mile.

Mariners legend.

Brilliant wasn't it. :eek:verhead: :eek:verhead:
Well done Aussies and well done Holger on a fantastic performance.

Mckay was outstanding, Kruse did well also, Mile was excellent again, Og was terrific... I think the HAL is clearly doing its job on a greater scale and while most when discussing 2014 and the future Roos only talk of players predominantly in Europe... I believe that Aussie players like Bozanic, Rose, Williams, Pedj and Franjic... let alone the golden youngsters like Leckie and Amini mean our future looks very bright. And while we may not perhaps have the definitive "Next harry Kewell" our future depth is looking possibly better than it ever has been.

Then take into account the national football curriculum, participation numbers, small sided games and project 22 and we are looking at a very bright and exciting future.

Happy Australia Day everyone!

Interesting Stat ….. Aleague players four assists and one goal in the six goals… Matty McKay three assists … Robbie Kruse one assist and one goal..

Coach in taking off Harry for a rest … very clever… in fact I think his subs were well placed…. must give credit too for playing the two ALeague players in McKay over Ermo and Kruse over Scotty Mac… both huge calls and did McKay & Kruse lift and by doing so will have every kid in the Aleague playing their guts out….Thanks coach…

Sheer joy at beating the scum :)
After staying up 'til the early hours for all of the round games and quarters, I was becoming seriously sleep deprived. On semi-final night, I'm sure I fell asleep in front of the TV, because I had this really weird dream. The Roos came out and played exciting, intelligent, attacking football. I'm sure I was delirious. Please don't pinch me and wake me up, I want the dream to continue.

DO NOT DISTURB

Quite simply the biggest game in the history of the sport of football in this country.

I've waited my entire sport watching life to have us anywhere near the business end of an actual tournament, let alone a _final_.... do us proud lads, we'll all be watching.

Either you don't remember the '97 Confederations Cup or (sensibly) you've forgotten it. Bebeto and Romario each with hat-tricks in a 6-0 thumping.

We beat Brazil in the 3rd place playoff in 01 as well.

Nice playing with the big boys but, well...

Asian Cup: Qualifying series, 16 countries in 4 group stages, 32 matches in total, 5 games to reach the final

Vs.

Confed Cup: Qualifying formula, 8 countries - always includes one from Oceania, 8 matches, 2 wins and you're in the final.
Deemed so important that 2 countries, having qualified (Germany twice and France) declined to participate.

For mine, tonight is the shit. Just ahead of the 2006 WC Rd2 against Italy.

:vhappy: :vhappy: GO AUSTRALIA :vhappy: :vhappy:
