ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

2015/16 Season Premiership Prediction

Not an easy one this year as most teams are strong or stronger and pretty stable.
Combined with this I think our boys are up for a consolidation year and the next season will be much better.

That said I expect to surprise in a few games this season, and also lose some we should have won or had the lead in (so probably balance out).

Most years it looks like we are weak on paper and tipped for the wooden spoon and then do much better, so I'm sticking with that

1. MV
2. Perth
3. SydFC
4. WellP
5. CCM
6. Roar
7. AU
8. WSW
9. MC
and all going well
10. NewcJ

I expect the Victory to win the League again as they are if anything stronger this year. The finals will be another thing. I think this could be Melb City's year to finally deliver as long as Mooy isn't sold halfway through. Sydney look weaker this year but have alot of continuity and a good coach and backroom staff (all from us of course!). That should round off the top 3. I believe we will scrape into the top 6 due to alot of other clubs having major changes and off field dramas. I'm going for-
1. MV
2. MC
3. SydFC
4. AU
5. WSW
6. CCM
7. Wellington
8. Brisbane
9. Perth
10. Jets

1. MV - Ollie and Danny to be standouts
2. SydFC - Arnie has never below 2nd in a full season
3. AU
4. Ciry - they better be at least this high or JVS is in deep shit.
5. CCM - surprise a lot with our attacking intent and tighten up later in the year as our defence starts to gel
6. Wellington
7. Brisbane
8. Vidosic to bomb
9. Perth
10. Jets

They keep predicting a wooden spoon for us, I suppose eventually they'll get it right, but I don't think it'll be this season.

Tony said the following in the above article

Attendances were down at Central Coast Stadium last season but Walmsley believes positive football played by the club can help bring the crowds back.
“The football team has a big role to play here,” he said.
“A good performance and a result against Perth in Round 1 will set us up for a bumper crowd against Sydney FC in round four and the sky is the limit from there.”

No pressure - but it is a valid point not only for crowds but confidence.

We have Perth at home then Brisbane and City away before meeting Sydney at home. A positive first month, both in style and results, will not only set up a reasonable year for crowds, but also give the boys a lot of confidence for the season ahead,

1. MV (just too good again)
2. Wellington (very solid last year & should continue)
3. Bling FC (Arnie & Clarky will have them up there again)
4. MC (good squad, suspect Manager)
5. CCM (Slow start then improving as the season goes on)
6. Perth (Could surprise & finish higher)
7. WSW (just have my doubts about them for some reason)
8. AU (see above)
9. Brisbane (unless Aloisi is replaced)
10. Jets (enough said)

I have a feeling City will produce in the finals and I may be being optimistic with the placing of us and Newcastle. I expect WSW to have a slow start to the season considering all the changes but I am sure at the end of the season I will look back at this and wonder what I was thinking

I'm an idiot savant without the pesky savant bit
1. Victory
2. City

I'm with Wombat, we will make at the very least sixth...all things being fine and groovy injury wise

Dude... EVERY season, the same pessimism from you - I think you need to start reading something other than Nick Hornby! ;)

I thought Brisbane deserved the win against WSW and I didn't think WSW looked better than us so for mine, if we can keep up the quality of play from this weekend, I think we're finals series material.
That is, if we don't see TOO many of the 5-0 thrashings that I also fear might be coming our way this season...

Let's see :)

That's a little unfair.

Last year I suggested that we'd be "happy to be here", but miss the finals. That's probably about right, though it's fair to say a lot of our active support wasn't even happy to be here (the near-constant bagging of the team last year and bullshit like "let's pretend we've scored a goal" whilst we were still in games is largely why I can't be arsed with the active support any more).

In 2013/14 I predicted us to come 4th, missing by one position.

Cant find any earlier predictions. I don't think I ever tipped us to win the league or anything, mostly because I'm never quite sure we have the best side.

Ok, so disregarding the 8/10, single-standing incidents of you picking our position at the end of the season, I really don't see what sort of justification you could have for making predictions on how the team will go!!! ;)
