What was Ben Cahns win % for the academy?67% win rate with the u20s...
The AIS program being in turmoil also hampered the results at u/20 level.
We went from the 90’s with the AIS producing viduka, Moore, simunic, Neill, Everton, sterjovski (basically the golden generation) to the Ange NT years (2000 - 2007) where the AIS were taking in players like brad porter and Troy hearfield.
There was little money for camps and matches. And it was the time of the Crawford report. Football and the governing body were an absolute basket case.
Given in his time he won 3 ofc u/17, 3 ofc u/20 and an AFF u/19 he didnt do horribly.
He got to the knockout stage of 2 world cups (2001 we lost to Brazil and 2003 we topped a group containing Brazil and Czech) and only missed the 3rd on goal difference.
Compare that with the last 4 editions of the u/20 World Cup where we have failed to even qualify and it’s not looking so bad

No idea. Not what was being discussed. People are trying to compare Ange to MJ.What was Ben Cahns win % for the academy?
Different story to what Wikipedia is putting up. I know wiki should be treated with cautionI didn't really look at him at the time but Transfermarket has these details on him as a NT manager - doesn't make for pretty reading.

He went to 3 ofc championships and won them. There’s no way he only played 11 games in 7 yearsI didn't really look at him at the time but Transfermarket has these details on him as a NT manager - doesn't make for pretty reading.

67% win rate is quite impressive for leeds u23 given they’re obviously not a top 5 club over there with some of the worlds best young players at their disposal. No idea. Not what was being discussed. People are trying to compare Ange to MJ.
Its been a wild ride watching this decision be digested.
Like I said previously I'll give him 15 games. He has the bones of a finals level squad. Its an enviable position to come into
I suspect Transfermarket doesn't count OFC matches in their figures. Australia won 10 out of 11 U17 OFC Championships until we left to join AFC. We also won 12 of 15 U20 OFC championships.Different story to what Wikipedia is putting up. I know wiki should be treated with cautionView attachment 2895
There are links to the right about formations..........I didn't see 442. Maybe the players will also need to adapt.A small video of him talking about working with two greats.
Hardly a "bashing". You've fallen in love, it's emotional, don't worry it'll be ok. We don't have to all have the same opinion all the time. This bashing of Mark for getting relegated is getting more and more funny. He joined them whilst they were already in the relegation zone. And missed safety by 1 point…. 2 more points and he’d be celebrated for keeping a basket case club in league 1.

6-1 ? right there, ready to do it all again in 9 months, easy.Hahaha righto champion
As long as he doesn't turn into Okonstein...Now we wait too see what we have.
A Monty?
A Moss?
A Mulvey?
We can't tell until a few games in and we see.
As mentioned, the 67% win rate was a reference to Ange with Aus u20’s, not Jacko with Leeds.67% win rate is quite impressive for leeds u23 given they’re obviously not a top 5 club over there with some of the worlds best young players at their disposal.
In fairness MJ went 14 from 20 with the u23. And I was the one who raised it regarding AP. So not just shitting on someone's pillow. As mentioned, the 67% win rate was a reference to Ange with Aus u20’s, not Jacko with Leeds.
That is drawing a massive f**king bow......claiming he is any way responsible for Leeds getting relegated lol. Actually that simply stupid tbh....its like blaming Richard Marles for our interest rates, inflation, petrol prices and all the other shit we are current enduring. No reason he can't do well, would have been nice to have someone that has just come out of a winning environment (e.g. Monty to Hibs) rather than being involved in 2 clubs that were both relegated last season. Doesn't mean he's not a capable Manager, just raises eyebrows.
The Dons was his first role Managing a first team so i suppose you can't expect too much, it was an underperforming team he didn't pick would be the excuse I guess. At least this time he's had the recruiting done well for him by Monty and Serge and he's got a start with the team in Preseason.
We should be thrashing Stallions next Weds, physically small side that plays on Astroturf to a few hundred fans. A win should kick start the momentum for him. If we lose, well that would be a disaster.
Fingers crossed it's a smooth transition and we have a good season.
Apart from I didn't at all? Responsible is a big leap from involved. Let it lie, the obsessing is getting boring.claiming he is any way responsible for Leeds getting relegated lol
