Loved every second of that and was so good to keep that going for the last 10 mins or so. f**king huuuuuge props the everyone who go involved tonight - loud as f**k, loudest travelling support I’ve heard in a long time.

@style_cafe - mate glad you got your banner back all sweet, I’m still getting my breath back after chasing that flog! He deserved a beating.
Still buzzing this morning about that going for so long with more and more fans joining in the longer it went. Everyone around us was getting louder and louder, kids right through to the oldies. Kudos to all it involve, just loved being there being a part of it

How good were those two young boys who, of their own accord, tried to start CCM chants while sitting with their families?

Was cool to see one of them come over and join PP

What's to improve on?
Seriously, I’ll take the points but that was far from a convincing win. By the rules it was a Pen so I’ll take it, stupid by Thurgate and he had to get to the ball first but didn’t so I don’t think the ref had any choice. Commentators are so bad, if it wasn’t in the rules then it would have been overturned as an obvious mistake but it stayed because it was the correct decision. Kudos to the crowd, was the most enjoyable part of the game.

These three points are massive as a draw or loss and we could have been 6th, we so needed it but didn’t really play well enough to deserve it.

It was an awesome display from the Yellow Army, and on Kayo it just drowned out the Jets and sounded like an home game for us...

I know revisiting past wrongs is the ultimate what if..... but...... without the ridiculous 3 pens in that Adelaide game we'd be on 39 points and Adelaide would be on 29 in 7th. It would be enough to secure our place in the finals as of this weekend.
Also a win over city next week would have put us within 2 points of the premiership spot.

Is it just my imagination, or does one of the free A-League/ football sites (proper sites, not just streaming pages) feature full-length match replays?

3 essential points. Excellent.
But now I am going to complain.
Nizz managed to get between the lines in acres of space in the 1st half on numerous and was ignored each time.
I am still not impressed by Bouman as a winger. His best game for us was when he played up front as a double sub with Kuol.
Kuol is inexperienced but is still dangerous and needs to be fed. He cannot do it all by himself.
Janota is not a sub to bring on to close down a game and defend a lead. He still seems wy off the pace and loses the ball too frequently.

But hey, isn't it great to get a win over the Scum, to go into 2nd place and still be able to have a whinge.

Much room for improvement.
janota has now provided 2 killer balls that should have been goals .
he's been given f'all game time and has generally been squandered .through lack of opportunity .
bouman is no winger as many have expressed and should play at 10 .i'd rather run kuol on the wing than him.

In happier news, Millar and Roy were woeful. They both looked unfit and have gone miles backwards as players
Millar just can't do the basics.
They matched him up with Niz and kept going long to him
He stuffed it everytime

Three precious points at last.Poor standard game but at least we played with passion and tenacity so the team still has self belief. May be difficult to beat City and Sydney if through to the final six but you never know in a one off match.
It is always difficult for Mariners to win in Melbourne but next Saturday's game could be a boil over as City are expected to win but also are due a loss.Urena being able to play for 90 minutes is a bonus-his couple of relieving runs in the last few minutes were an eye opener.
Kuol, while having a quiet game ,did probably contribute to Boogard having to be replaced having hit him hard in a tackle a few minutes earlier.Anyway good riddance to the cantankerous Jets skipper who should have had a yellow for his tackle on Urena in the first half.

I don't know, Sydney still didn't look much chop in the 2 games we played, and we have beaten city

Saw a butt hurt Jest fan on the CCM FB page who made some comment along the lines of enjoy the trip home you inbreds at least we don't get our banners stolen yada yada yada

I'm thinking bitch please- that Never Tear Us Apart banner blew/ folded over for most of the second half so it just said 'Never Tear Us'. Clean up your own backyard first!

Thats actually their never tear us a new arsehole banner. Which they had to fold over once we ripped them a new one.

Yep. 100%. Bouman looked the goods because of when and where he was put into the game. Kuol in the box and Nizzy behind him. Nizzy gets him the ball via a turn over or just being f**king amazing and Bouman finds Kuol for goals. It was a partnership that really fired for us at the start of the season.
I think moving him back to the middle and wide has hampered his play and forced him to try and be a DDS or Nizzy type of player which isn't his strength IMO. His strength was making chances out of the play from those 2 and its no coincidence that our goal count has dropped during his time in the midfield.
In saying that though, we now have a 90 min striker (or very close to it) in Urena so there won't be that dual swap at the 60 with 2 strikers out and 2 in. You'd be bringing him in over Kuol to replace Matty. Won't please the Kuol lovers but I think it's the right thing to do if we are to find a bit more spark in that final third and Kuol can come on when Urena tires or we need to go full throttle to find a winner or equaliser sacrifice a centre mid and have three upfront. Bouman and Urena either side of Kuol in the middle. Bouman can then drop back in defence to help Ollie out Stens out.

OTOH Clisby and Nigro could just start finding people with there crosses and corners so we start scoring more goals.............
This is the problem about 70% of our attacking forays placed Nigro as the vital final link. And he’s just not up to it, so many opportunities wasted. We need to either change our attacking strategy or change Nigro if we want more goals.

On the game itself I think a combination of an away game against a good side on a heavy pitch, the loss of DDS and overall lack of confidence of our recent run dragged us down to their level.

Fact is the scum are a dreadful side held together by NTS and Boogard. They have nothing else and are deservedly last. Why the dont/wont start Yuell shows how broken they are. Ironically the only player I would take is Thurgate

Niz on the left for DDS made us really unbalanced I thought. We also missed his creativity too.

Our nerves kicked in the minute we socred and we dropped deeper and deeper. For some reason we werent able to get that long ball over the top to Kuol going. The minute Boogs was forced to chase him his hammy went (to great delight from the away support)

Stefan N wasnt great (again) and I do recall that he was only supposed to be back up behind Ziggy (is a dogs name). Its not lack of effort or will, he just isnt very good. The gap between NPL and AL is wider than people think

That was the loudest we have been as fans for ages. Home or away. Great to see old faces beginning to come back. Still many more to go.

No problem with his skill but suspect we may not be using correctly. I would prefer him starting over Bouman on the wing and providing more creativity for our forwards. Maybe with Bouman as a forward to take advantage of what is provided.

Although this year is still massively alive we need to think about next season. As someone else said we need to look for another striker. I am thinking Urena and Bouman may be worth considering, perhaps with a quality poacher as well, depending on finances.
I expect Matty to have another year but to be used like Arnie used him at SFC.

It looks like Staj has told Clisby and Nigro to not get so far forward in an effort to stiffen our D. Problem is we play too narrow without those runs. If either of them get forward its then up Stens to plug a gap at CB if Kye or Ruon push out to cover. Its not that hard.

Also where the f**k did that pace come from with Urena. He's looked slow AF all season then smashes out a few 10sec 100s with the ball at his feet.
He has trimmed down a lot.... and its added a bit of speed ... maybe he is getting stronger in the legs he seems much quicker off the mark...
