Mariners vs Perth Glory - MW12 - the 'didn't we just play you ?' round

I'm good with the draw. It was our own fault for not capitalising on our first half chances and dominance.

We went behind and fought back once again so happy with the point, and more so making sure Perth misses 6 points from our 2 games.

Urena - becoming very impressive and for much more than just his goal. Intelligent and skilled player we have there!
Yeah he is becoming instrumental....any idea why he was subbed? He's fast becoming the key to our attack

I was suprised he was taken off. He was playing well.
At the time PG were on top and I thought we needed a mid field change to get back control and possession.
Yeah....I'm not convinced on a Simon/Kuol pairing myself. Urena is too much of a key playmaker for both of them I think.

I can see the logic behind Simon and Kuol on the field but I'm not convinced it's our best option.

Agree. I love Simon but I would have subbed him before Urena, but I don't think forwards were the problem at that point of the match.

We should have had 4 goals in the first half so I see that as 2 dropped points. Which is amazing considering. Subs were spot on. Ams lost control towards the end of the second and showed he's not capable to be a whistle blower let alone a flag raiser. First goal was not Nigro's fault. That was Boz who should have come out and closed the cross down. Both Nigro and Boz had other players to mark but Boz could have left his and been covered by one of the guys in the middle. Still it was a great finish by fallandrolli.
In reality the game should not have gone ahead. The area just in front of the north box was not fit for football.
As for Urena no one likes to come off but he did drop his output dramatically in the 10 mins prior to his subbing.

Can someone please clarify for me.
It is my understanding that if a player is injured and requires medical attention after that attention he has to go to the sideline and cannot re-enter until after the game has re-started. Has the rule been changed or more likely than not am I way behind the times?
I was surprised (thankfully) when Simon stepped up to take the penalty after receiving treatment.

I think they give you some grace when it's foul play by the opposition

Pretty sure you're right.
Doesn't have to leave the field if the opposing player is booked though.
No booking so should they both have left the field?

I didn’t mind the Urena sub. We needed the energy to be able to put pressure on the ball to win some possession and get a bit of control back in the midfield and I don’t think Marcos could do much more to help there,

D’Asgostino really upped the tempo and changed the game. They moved it much quicker and started using their width. It was a great double sub by Perth. And they took over for the next 30 minutes.

Tbf to Staj, in a game where you’ve just dominated at HT you’re going to say more more of the same please boys and it’s really up to the other tram to try and change things. And I don’t think Staj saw Garcia’s tactics coming. Pushing Castro wider - and letting D’Agostino run the show and literally tear through the middle.

Stens helped us get control back and thank f**k for Nizzy. Broke up so much play and was excellent in attack too. He gets my 3 points today.

next week Stens starts and Nizzy goes wide for Bouman imo

bottom line, game we could have won, game we nearly lost. So you can’t be unhappy with a point.

Yeah - needs Stens next to Ollie and Niz right as protection for arguably our weakest link (RB) They killed us down the right

Also, how the f**k can a so called expert referee not be able to give a foul when a CB jumps diagonally into the striker in front of him?

I've worked Ams out - he isnt corrupt, doesnt play favourites he's just shockingly shit at what he does.
