I find some of staj's selections hard to understand.
In the first half there was no organiser in defence nor attack. In defence it was scramble, scramble, scramble. Attack was clueless.
There was a distinct lack of ability to pass and a complete absence of ball control.
Oar was the only one who can do both, but I do not understand why we are giving him match time to play himself back into form and fitness to play against us next season.
The introduction of Simon, Nisbett and Milan made a massive difference. I do not understand why they did not start.
Simon is a threat, Nisbett is clearly the best DM in the club, and Milan provides the experience and is always a threat around the box.
Muzza may be able to score with good providers around him, but I feel he is not the answer for us.
Silverra is too weak, easily pushed off the ball, and does not go in hard. Still along way to go.
Give the two young guys a go so that they get experience for next season.

Kuol needs more minutes. We looked the most threatening when both he and Duric were on the pitch. Same old story really in attack. Lack of creativity and direction.

Was a nice touch that immediately after full time, Ziggy walked alone around the ground and thanked the fans. Not the most gifted or technically sound footballer, but he has the same never say die attitude that this club showed in our prime. Hoping we can keep him.

The effort was there but the execution was patchy.Lucky for us Castro was not playing as they probably would have created more chances with him on the field.

Birra was in good form, especially the save from the Fallaroli free kick.Kuol,Nizzy,Matty, Ruiz and Djuric added some spark in the last twenty minutes or so but apart from a succession of corners no real chances were created.

It was good to see Ollie Bozanic attending with his young son-would have loved to see him pull on the boots!

mr kuooool looks like he might scare a few sides
i'd like to see him start with Ruiz-Diaz at 10
melling i though was our best player before being sub .which indicates how shit we were playing
nisbit has some quality and needs to be there with stens .

there needs to be a serious wtf from the club to the ffa over why stens got a yellow .
as our best ball winner getting a 13 minute yellow .that needs to be justified.as on that standard 8 to 10 reds should of been given

i think sammy was harshly treated and was continually fouled by perth yet got nothing from aims.
yet perth were gifted a free every time fall-you-rollie hit the deck within 10 metres of a yellow shirt.
this lead to their goal and almost another .
that made the difference in the end and not for the first time .

I don’t think we were hard done by there. It was blatant and the ref had a good view. He flirted with a second one for most of the first half before someone must have told him to stop grabbing people at half time.

I don’t feel like the ref was unfair to either side. A little inconsistent at times but mostly where players stopped or fell and forced a decision. We could have seen multiple yellows early if he wanted to screw us over.

I was too far away to tell about Stens yellow. However after that I thought a couple of our players got away with things that could have been yellows.
Melling for one, but I can't remember the other. I thought Stens would be subbed at half time. He was looking for a second booking.

We looked much better when Duric & Nisbet came on. Makes you wonder why they didn't start.
Fitness perhaps? Who knows?

According to the guys on the radio Muzz had a dislocated shoulder.

Not many positives from that performance. I have seen Eunuchs with more penetration than us.

Positives. Birraz, Fox, Ziggy, and Koeul (Black Fella).
Negatives. Off the ball movement, speed in transition, inability to shoot.

The midfield was dreadful but we did improve with Milan, Matty and Kool (good nickname?) on the park.

Clearly we need to spend more time on shooting practice in the final third and heading the ball under pressure in the box. It has to be second nature. Muzz poor diving header was an easy chance from my vantage point.

Hopefully Koul gets a bit longer next game. He is the only player we have with pace.

Ma must start now Muzz is hurt

i thought that was an ordinary performance from the ziggy .he even got a spray from sammy .

hows the players and Jess Van Stratten, having a good joke and a laugh with opposition players at the end

Looks to me they dont really care. Just lost the 11th game in a row
That's absolutely piss poor.
But that reflects perfectly how this club has completely accepted a culture of failure. I really had expected the leadership to find a way to get everybody's heads back in the game so we'd come out firing with confidence, trying to win these matches. Winning every game in this part of the season at least gives us an outside chance of not getting the spoon - but if nothing else, it shows that there's some capability when we're not suffering the mindset of losing week after week.
There's enough of a break that I really would have thought they'd have been able to approach this with the fire of a new season, given how desperate out situation is.
And any loss should hurt.
For the players to be joking around like they don't care.....just sends the message that losing is expected and it's fine.
And honestly, for a member of the coaching staff to be doing that is just not showing leadership. Lead by example - and this sets the example of 'so what? We're the Mariners, we're losers, but as long as we had fun'.
Anybody not hurting from that loss doesn't belong on the pitch.

You're on the wrong path there mate - it's a pretty straightforward yellow. Actually reach out to grab somebody then give them a push from behind, you'd typically expect a card there.
Stens is the one who needs to justify his actions there for earning a completely unnecessary card - we had them well outnumbered, even he was directly covered, middle of the field. No need for him to earn a card and it's the sort of discipline we need to tighten up on.

Enjoying having no VAR too.
the Bling-Nix match had 3 decisions that would probably have been reviewed by VAR - as I pointed out on reddit, VAR may have overturned all 3, may have overturned none (of course people are posting completely misunderstandings of the law and saying 'oh VAR would have fixed it!) - but as I pointed out, with VAR involvement, they'd still be controversial decisions. Except now at least the spectacle isn't ruined and you can actually celebrate a goal.

And heck, people that are saying 'oh VAR would have fixed those' have clearly forgotten how many times VAR has completely made up a reason to intervene on an innocuous challenge and changed a correct decision nobody would even talk about into an incorrect one.

Digressing though, but there's just less sense of 'somebody is going to f**k us over for something that happened 2 minutes ago for no reason'

I thought Stens had a terrible game, poor yellow early in the game and he would have had the worst pass completion percentage. Expect better from him. Glory rested a lot of players and it was the right decision as they got the points with an under strength team and out played us until they got tired. Really wish we didn’t have to endure the end of this season.
