Anyone see Hoole giving Tommy H a hard time for his Cross goal clearance (which was insane btw)
Pot calling kettle black there Hooley

Great performance. Very happy. WSW were dire but Staj has worked wonders.

Really going to miss ONeil.
Pearce was great.
Need to re-sign Jem ASAP.
Thought Murray was excellent tonight and hoping he’ll turn into a regular goal scorer like many think next year.
Melling was very good for the most part also.
Matty mom 3pts.

I agree that was Murray's best game for us.

Had to catch up with a recording. Devo not to have been there but what a roller coaster that was. Can’t say we do things the easy way.

My take on a few things:
- Murray was one of our best tonight, super busy, into everything and always pushing. We have to keep playing him like that. Out shone Matty for me but I’ll let him have his night.
- Hoole didn’t offer much going forward but some time over this season he’s really stepped up his defensive work. Not going to say it was just under Staj but definitely second half of the season.
- Clisby had a great game
- Rowles red was fair. Unfortunate situation and a bit closer or further away would have changed things. Commentators said he’s about to re-sign for 2 years
- Hamil walking off late seemed disrespectful to his team. Maybe there was more to it but at home it looked like bigger it I’m done even though we’ve used our subs.

Also I was surprised Staj didn’t go to the bench earlier. I thought Matty was out of gas and would have made sense to take off an attacker. Fortunately the structure held up.

Very happy if this pans out. Thought we'd already lost him to City.

“It’s nice to send the boss off with a win....... to go into next season!”
Nice save son, nice save

Tommy showed his old FB experience doing a job at LB with no problems bar that little heart flutter cross goaler, proving he is human.
Everyone was very good tonight. Yes even Melling and Pearce. Although Pearce still had to go full retard in not catching the ball that led to their pen.
Hoole had 1 or 2 half alright moments but I still have the gun waiting for him out back.

Would’ve loved to see Kek’s and Ruiz get more mins but can’t blame Staj after kye got binned. Was going to argue more about the red but it just doesn’t matter now.

Pearce 8/10. Only blemish was the penalty. Why was he so shit during pre-season and his 2 starting games? He looked decent tonight??
Miller 7. Final ball was nearly always poor but he loves to have a dig. Great outlet from defence.
Clisby 7. Solid game.
Graham 8. His best game. He was excellent tonight and set up the first goal with a beautiful long ball.
Rowles 7. Pretty good and scored an excellent goal. The send off was warranted for a crazy challenge.
Mallon 7. Looked dangerous all night.
Jem 7. Tackled and schemed well
Melling 6.5. Gave away the penalty but his passing and touch was better tonight.
O'Neill 8. Showed alot of quality tonight. I'd like to keep him.
Hoole 5.5. Tried hard at times.
Simon 7.5. Two great dead ball strikes and harried the drive bys all night.
Murray 7.5. Tenacious and showed good movement. I liked him on this showing.

Ah shit yes, forgot about Clisby, his set pieces tonight were fantastic.

Agree about bench, I think the send off unfortunately changed that.

Nice to see our fans and team with some deserved pride tonight. Appreciated that.

Amazing what good sensible structure and a well drilled side can accomplish.

I guess it is a send off if you’re leaving though, which he must be.

The send off is why I expected him to go to the bench sooner, normally in that position you’d expect to drop a forward and replace the missing defender. But it was a very young bench so he held his nerve and let the players adjust and it worked out ok.

When I saw our line up I was worried, there were a few big omissions there and on paper their attack should have run right through us. Could have easily been another Brisbane 5-3 kind of game with the defensive records of both teams.

I think maybe it was just that he’s young? Young players make mistakes but they can also change/grow a lot in a relatively short amount of time.

He looked excellent tonight. So much lighter on his feet than Kennedy, clearly more agile. Was wrapped with his performance.

i had been concerned by our lack of height , especially at corners .
stajic compressed our guys into the 6 yard box and caused them problems all
night . something mulvey or okon would have never thought of .
and led to rowles goal

Good pick up TB. Combined with Clisby’s set pieces and some idea of where he wanted to put it, made a huge difference.

Amazing what a new manager can do. Consider who commentators would have as our best XI (barring injury). It would include Kennedy, Aspro, Pain. Oar, Tom and McGlinchey - none of who started and only one got on the pitch.

Other point in the send off (which I think was deserved) was by that time Hamill and Kamau both should have been off. Hamill's tackle was dangerous and deliberate - why no VAR. Kamau denied a clear goal scoring opportunity - no VAR. We should have been 4 up against 9 men at the time Kye was sent off.
