ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Keeper probably should’ve saved first one, bad mix up for the second.
General play is terrible. I don’t believe he’s improved at all. Ofcourse he’s fitter. If anything we had more time to view that he can’t make it because it’s just plain and simple too late for him.
He took a clear shot away from Murray because he ran in front of him instead of stopping the run.
And the cross he 110% should’ve got on the end of.

Cheers usain for bringing in some sponsor $$ and getting the name out there. But as of Monday, when the boys prepare hammer and tong for round 1, please stay away from the team training.

Trying to be somewhat objective on the Bolt thing and separate the money and the name from the situation a bit. Off his performance tonight - or what I saw of it as I missed the first half-and-a-bit - if someone had told me that this was another newly signed squaddie, whom i'd never heard of before. I feel like he showed enough that I would've shrugged and trusted in MMM's assessment. I think that is that only way to really assess the situation. The price tag is not about his footballing abilities and it's not money that would normally be available, in part due to the whole sponsorship pull thing. Given that, I obviously couldn't make a call myself but I think I'd trust the club on this one, either way.

I’m not saying he’s earned or deserves a contract but if you’re saying he hasn’t improved you’re joking. Apart from his touch everything else has improved drastically.
The guy is humble and honest, I’d say bed him in the squad, all of them can learn from his attitude.

I guess I am a glass half full kind of person. I agree with all the above assessments. I cringed in the first half at what might have been if Matt Simon was there instead of Usain. On the other hand I remember Matt Simons first 15 games and though we only signed him as he was a local. I will say this and it goes for everything we do and that is confidence is everything. Him scoring two goals tonight will give him a lot of it. He admitted that he was nervous after the first chance tonight. We will see what happens. I am glad he scored tonight.

I told Middy i feared it would be a train wreck as he has no touch BUT he did Ok. The first Goal was a quality finish. The second was just lucky for him.

He is rough as but not terrible. His size and speed make him a nightmare to defend against, if he can get the basics right.

The bloke admitted he has to remember to lock his ankles when controlling, passing etc. so the basics.

I’m sorry but it’s too late for him.
Being humble about it and being a good bloke doesn’t change anything.

Agree very much. Haven't seen much improvement since his first cameo. Club should give him till January but

So here's the thing... what's the downside to us signing him at this point?

He's pretty crap. We give him too much game time and costs us some points.

The upside is the marketing.

Having said that Matty Simon was pretty crap and look at how good he turned out to be.

If you were making a decision tonight about whether to sign him or not the answer would be no.
However, I hope he stays on at least until January. Rough as anything but I can see some potential and am finding his journey fascinating.
His first goal showed good determination and a quality strike.
The other point to notice was how the team reacted to his goal, they were genuinely truly happy for him. I very much doubt that his presence is causing any disruption to the team's preparation and to listen to those being interviewed his presence is probably a positive.
If he is keen to carry on working, if the staff are prepared to put in the time, I think the trial should carry on.
I am fascinated to see how far he can go.
