Round 18 - CCM v Roar @ Gosford

Might as well forfeit every Roar fixture from now on. Just share a point each and save the travel expenses/ injuries/ cardings.

For whatever reason, Roar can’t beat the Jest, who can’t beat the Nix, who can’t beat CCM, who can’t beat the Roar. It’s the circle of life...

Is it any wonder games like tonight get 5k crowds with performances like that at home. Problem with this team is they play to the level of their opposition- so vs SFC they do great, but then against basket cases like the Roar and Nix at home they don’t look like winning.

Is anybody game to say they’ll beat WSW next weekend?

I’d rather see CCM miss the finals than make the finals and get knocked out by the Jest- but to see what this squad is capable of last week then not go for the kill against a Roar team at an all time low just makes me think what could be.

CCM may not be the worst team in the League, but they’re the dumbest for certain.

Would love to see wales completed passing stats. I know he’s young and all but he had a shocker!

Overall, shit game by all, especially Okon. Sub decisions were woeful
Been ordinary every game and can’t last the distance

Wout was good and strong until that brain snap. Frustration I’d say.

Corey Gamerio came over to his family after celebrating with the fans.

He was absolutely seething (rightly so). He was really upset especially after what he’s been through. Worse one of our players was a smart arse. Not sure if it was Wout it wasn’t audible who he was talking about. He was shaken up.

Did anyone notice once Appiah went off and this happened against City at home as well we loose all drive up the right side. McGing and co have no option up that side.
Appiah is hopeless in front of goal but the others aren’t even giving an option.

Trent should of come to the right as seems to be our stronger attacking side.

Can see what Appiah brings just a shame he’s a giraffe on ice

Frustrating half and if we don't speed up our ball movement we are going to lose this one. Disappointing mistake from Melling but he has mostly done well apart from that. Wales has had some moments but isn't his night. De Silva needs to shoot more and pass quicker, Powell's positioning has been poor but he hasn't been helped by Appiah and Wales. Hiariej has been fantastic, by far our best. Golec and Baro taking way to long to pass to our full backs and Josh Rose too often not seeing Hiariej free and playing low percentage long balls to Wales.
Agree. Golec put ridiculous unnecessary pressure on Melling by being overly casual / the ol - look I’m not threatened by you opposing atracker... whoa shit! Ooops... f**king stupid. He’s been good this season - but that was awful and he got very lucky he didn’t give them a second 5 minutes later. That was a dire dire performance. After all that hard work.

Too many angry thoughts to post right now. Going to just sup on everyone else’s anger for awhile instead.

All this night needs is a storm roux sub

This killed me. KILLED me. Okons love of Roux has us subbing on an RB at LB when we are chasing a game and have already used up a sub on a DM. Madness.

We have to watch Powell run out of puff, but we can’t bring another striker on, and we can’t even replace lachie when he’s cramping and costing us vital minutes because Kubi has beaten him to the cramp finish line.

If Rose can’t play 90 at LB then he shouldn’t be starting.

If okon lovesRoux so much, fine drop McGing, but don’t ruin our ability to make attacking subs and badly needed change to midfielders who run themselves into the ground because you feel bad about leaving out an RB.

Horrible horrible performance. Roar are rubbish. But we managed to beat outselves - just what the table and home crowd needed, so very disappointing,

First 20 mins was good but Melling's usual brain snap and we are 1 down. After that we were absolutely woeful. Kennedy, really mate i've been a fan of you but you deserved to be dropped after that.
TBH i was shocked that Wout didnt get a straight red, it was a very stupid challenge.
I think the ONLY player that played well was Tom. Baro was OK.
Brisbane were absolutely shit and Maccarone is worse than Asdrubal.
Paul did a very poor job tonight....... from the weird starting 11 to the weird subs.
The crowd was very small but we have been dross at home nearly all year.

Coach needs to be more sensible .....team selection, team set up, subs.....................and we will win.

Paulo also seemed extremely quite (was tempted to go with disinterested) on the sidelines. He’s usually up telling them every pass to make. Just sat in his seat thinking what am i doing

Also when Appiah cramped. He didn’t move. No get Trent now. You know Appiah cramps after 60mins. Get Trent now. Don’t f around for another 5mins. We are loosing. Just another bad decision by him tonight

Reminded me of my golf. I relax and play well, get in a bit of trouble , the harder i try the worse I get. Real Jekyll and Hyde stuff.

If DDS could shoot he would be world class, but he just can't. I suppose something must be missing in his game.

I really do not know where we go from here.

This is no longer a salary capped league. When SFC can spend more on two Marquees than we spend on our entire squad and City get a special Timmy deal from the FFA the playing field is definitely not level.

I need to give it some thought before saying more but worry that the A-League will go the same as Scotland.

I find it difficult to understand where we fit in just now.

Very disheartened. I will watch a replay and comment on the game some time in the future and after some more thought make some hopefully sensible discussion about the Aleague and CCM.

Just feeling empty now.

DDS was really good early but that left foot shot was a shocker and he just is reluctant to let fly from top of the box.
You have nalied his weekness. Needs alot of work.

He used to be a great finisher in olyroos to

That was just absolutely awful. If that's our standard for the rest of the season, we're wooden spooners for sure. Trying desperately to find something positive so here goes... great to see Powell score from open play. Hopefully he can go on a bit of a run and the team can lift starting with the Wanderers next week!

Was a quality finish as well, only one place to put it and he did it. Excited to see what he can do with regular game time up top.
