From what I gather Jones and Bentham are both from Northbridge. Jones is a 25 year old defender who played with Wrexham and Wales youth sides, Bentham a striker from England who played Conference level. Shane Murray is from Gungahlin Utd in the Capital NPL and played against Olympic in the FFA Cup last week, 23 year old Irishman who has played for Sheffield Utd reserves/youth when Marc Warren was there, midfield playmaker. Cvetkovski is a 27 year old Austalian born centre back who has played most of his career in Macedonia and more recently in Hong Kong, Myanmar and Thailand. He is 6'3"and played for Rockdale City in NPL in 2014.
Adelson and Berry are great NYL signings if the tweet/list is correct.
Heffernan is rumored to be playing on Thursday v Gungahlin.
Nice to see we trying some older players, not exclusively youth.

I hope he gives Heffernan the second half on Thurs, paired with either Paddy or Bingham.

Also playing 3 at the back is not so radical, especially if playing against a team with a lone striker.

I'm loving the candid talk from Walmsley it's great for us fans.

I have always liked the idea of 3 at the back, and also 2 or more up front - but you really need the right players or it will backfire. This will be more about trying combinations and adaptations then anything else but still like seeing it.

Lee 'Joner' Jones; currently playing at RB for Northbridge FC in the NSW State League 1, THAT'S 3RD DIVISION in NSW!

D.O.B - 17/10/1989
Nationality - English
Born - Chester, United Kingdom
Originate - North Wales
Living - Manly, Sydney
Position - Right back / Wing 2,7

At just 24y.o this kids even set up his own Academy to share his footballing prowess!

Load's of YouTube vids, Load's of testimonials from 10y.o girls & the likes about how he's helped to develop their games with his vast footballing experience at the 'lite' level. (not sic)

I know we have a 'sister-city' type relationship with this 3rd tier club on the Northshore but seriously! check out 'Joner- 1on1'.

Blew me away, impressed Walmsley even more.

We have signed players in the past with much worse cvs.

He sounds like he might be half decent.

Oh, I fully agree.

I'd rather have ex Mariner big Dylan Macallister back who's playing his socks off for Rockdale City Suns in the NSW NPL + a host of other players - some ex A-Leaguer's included, which is 2 Division's HIGHER than this muppet from Northbridge FC.

If this kid can't get recognized by NPL club's, then what makes him so 'special' for Walmsley ???

If Charlesworth wants to go 'dumpster- diving' so be it! But there's so much better talent in the NPL to be cherry picked for bargain basement wages of $55k which is what we'd gave to pay this kid anyway at A-League minimum wage.

Mrdja was a far better striker than Macca. dylan was a bit of a cart horse.

Also Dylan has been discarded as not good enough before and now he is 4+ years older.

I'm not saying we have to sign him but let's have a look at him.
I remember West Ham legend Alan Devonshire was playing non league Football when he was picked up and he ended up playing for England.

Walmsley seems to have an eye for this sort of thing but has to trial players to have a good look.
Keep in mind he signed Ibini, Amini, Ryan, Sainsbury, Duke and Caceres long before they showed the world what they could do.
Gives me some hope he can pick and develop untapped potential. But reality is he may just be having a look at this guy.

My point about DMac, was a "either/or" sarcastic crack. As in which would you rather have, EITHER a 4yr discarded Ex A-League'r (who's still cutting it in the NPL) OR a 24yo neville nobody from x2 division's DOWN within the same state ???

In fact there'd be 10-15 others in front of DMac I'd rather have from the NPL than this kid Lee'Joner'Jones from frickn NorthbridgeFC.

Blake Powell ex SYDFC was top of my list from Apia Leichhardt. Tooooo late! Ernie Merrick snapped him up. Keep your eye on him this season and hope we all don't rue what could've been.

The fact is ANY player in the NPL would 'cream themselve's to sign a minimum-wage of $55k to either get back in the A-League or better yet, have their first shot at it! & I haven't a clue at what talent is available in the NPL's of Qld, Vic or SA. ???

Google "ECU Joondalup" over in WA to check out the talent they pump out DIRECTLY to overseas clubs, another Goalie just this week to Charlton Athletic

Every Golden Boot winner of each of the State NPL's! that's who we should be trialling. HELL even the top 3-4 goal scorer's if your a fair'dinkum coach about 'unearthing quality' looking for a bargain.

Because lets face it, Charlesworth doesn't wanna spend the $$$'s. Thats OK, I dont mind taking a 'diamond'n'rough' from the 'bargain-bin' of the NPL's, BUT do we really need to be 'dumpster diving' in the 3rd division's of State League's.

If we do, then it gives a whole new meaning to the 'corporate boxes' @ The BlueTongue.
