ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Why is the Sydney game at 3pm?

I am really struggling to work out the logic of a 3pm game on either Saturday or Sunday whilst the local league is still running.  Surely we are going to miss out on a lot of people who would attend or even watch on Fox as the under 14s, 15s, 16s as well as the over 35s (which is probably a lot of dads who take kids) will be playing especially against Sydney as I imagine that the travelling fans will also be affected as a number of the Sydney leagues play the full seniors comp on Saturday.

I can't work out the FFA's logic in this scheduling.

But a lot of their audience will be playing/involved in sport (not just football) on Saturday which is what I still don't get.

It means that they can give the football audience a night of football without interupting the rest of their programming. They have the 5Th Ashes Test, NRL and AFL all on that night as well.

They had the same last week, Brisbane game was on Fox Sports news.  Why not do a Thursday night game like last week?

Thursday nights do not work. They only did that as Tards have clash with stadium. Not sure why they didnt have it a 7.30 and on 513. But i am guessing they dont want that as a regular occurance

Perfect time for the majority of fans which are made of young families

Not necessarily just as a quick count in my 35s team the crowd is going to be down al least 15 to 20 attendees when you look at how many fathers wont be taking their kids that does not include the ones who sometimes go.

As are Sydney and North Queensland games in October, The real killer is 4pm on the 31st of January. Would rather the early afternoon games be now than in that weather!

It sucks but it would suck for any area at the moment, Feel sorry for brisbane they get two of them at home over round three and four, next week us and brisbane have them, week after brisbane and Jest have them, Melbourne gets one in round 6, wellington and Sydney get them in round 7. not just us so don't feel hard done by.

It especially makes sense for derbies as it allows plenty of time to travel home by train, and yes it works well overseas

Exactly. Add another 20 or so from mine. Plus as you foresaw, I can't take my kids like I normally do. Haven't missed a home game since v1 till now. So yes I think saturdays at 3 suck ass.

Most crowds won't be as affected by a 3pm game in 6 or seven weeks Dru. Most comps will have wrapped or have only a lesser amount of teams involved in finals. It's who ever is copping the early games in the early rounds that are going to suffer.

But it is what it is. And my bitching won't change it...
Unless maybe I aim at our fixtures officer at my club!
I'm on it ;D
