ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

well fitzy goes like a train but murdered a couple of sitters again .
is it time to bite the bullet and send him to everton for 6 weeks to work on his shooting .
this guy should be 8+ goal a season player , thoughts ?

Yeah totally agree. So much potential and each year you think "this is his year".

Really hoping that Walmsley can bring out his best as he could carve up the league if he finds it.

He'd be a star if even half the shots he took went in. He's positioning and work rate are first class but the one place he struggles is in front of goal. I'd say send him to the Youth team until his shooting improves. I think he could really be a stand out at this level if he just gets his shooting a little better.

With a better attack this should be his year. Make or break but I'll put him down for those 8 goals this year.

I don't think a stint in the youth league would help.
his shooting technic is the issue .
Melbourne croatia had hungrian legend ferenc puskas they were great finishers
and produced the likes of mark viduka .
we have an alliance with everton . it's time to use it .

I rate Fitzy and expect him to start firing on target anytime. Few can be judged on last years performance and he barely missed a couple of times last game. as he warms into the season I see him getting crisper.

that said I'd love some time with a specialist defensive coach and a specialist shooting coach. despite doubling Perth's shots on goal we had less on target

Puskas was at South Melbourne, not Croatia, and he was done by the time the V-Bomber would've been about 14 or so.

Ollie couldn't hit the ground if he fell off a horse when he was with us, nor could Matty initially. Hopefully, Fitzy will get his radar turned on this season, especially with the guys around him (Fabio, Mitch, Roy & Cac) attracting the defenders & giving him more space.

He will either start scoring or lose his spot to Heff.
Regardless he will be useful, either buzzing around from the start, or coming on with 30 mins to go.

slight memory fade . viduka was playing at 17 or 18 for the crows . maybe it was because I remember
puskus talking about Australians inability to shoot at a crows v greeks game .

Fitzy's shooting will come good. His all round game and work rate keeps him in the team for me. Like lots of players in our starting side they just need a good run of games to build confidence and an understanding. I've got confidence in the lad.
