ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Highlights of the night included

* The general level of noise from all concerned - Sky had a decibel thingy there and it was constantly above 100.  Amazing.

* The Yorkshire/Lancashire rivalry really coming out to play.  Barnsley's fans belting out "You'll Never Walk Alone" followed by Man U's retort of "Without killing anyone, we've won it 3 times", then just a groundwide singalong of "We All Hate Leeds Scum".  ;D

* Owen's goal met with a blisteringly loud "You Scouse Bastard" from the United End - very tongue in cheek, but he looked utterly crestfallen.  :tv:

* In the second half when Foster was down the Barnsley end having a drink of his Powerade/Gatorade/whatever - being heckled by the crowd "does your missus swallow" to which he smiled and gave us all a thumbs up - cue much laughter and "we love your missus, we do".

* The pitch invaders at the end who subsequently kicked the ball into Foster's net getting a ground wide singalong of "Fergie, sign him up".

Never really been in a crowd that is so high spirited having lost before.  Was certainly something different.

P.S.  This.....

......was met with a rousing rendition of "Park Park, wherever you may be".  Gotta love the football fan's sense of humour.  ;D

sounds like an epic time serial

So, Chelsea play Bolton twice this week, and like Blackburn who we just played over the previous weekend, Bolton have also had team members and staff come down with swine flu.

A quiet Tuesday night in Yorkshire, the usual.  :p

They're not quite sure what to do about that swine business here - not on the level of postponing any fixtures yet, but they're a bit perplexed.

Big Sam said they found out at late notice and only played in fear of being in trouble by the FA or some such.

btw all the banter you speak of, that's just fcuking class.

Very.  Wish that A-League crowds were like that - in the way that _everyone_, from 4 year old kids to 80 year old ladies, join in.  Sideline, behind the goals, whatever.... and with the stands so much closer to the ground you KNOW that the players can hear you (Foster tonight being a prime example).  It's great.  ;D

Is a valid fear after the 96/97 season debacle.

Only way Barnsley could score.  ;)

P.S.  http://www.redcafe.net/f6/united-fans-run-riot-273422/ - talk about last night, not sure if it made the news over there or not.  Typical Daily Mail/Sun overreaction.
