Starting a fresh thread to keep track of the progress of "The New Sydney A-League Club".
I watched a few videos earlier on the SBS TWG website taken from a fan forum they had recently (Part 1 of 3 here (not recommended unless you are really really reaaaallllly bored) and it all seemed like a complete waste of time.
Main points (from the people they showed speaking... I assume these are the highlights):
* They want local players, even if it means getting someone who isn't as talented over some superstar from outside the area. Inbred FC?
* Some of them want the word West or Western in the name
* Some of them don't want the word West or Western in the name
* Some of them threw out random words for the name e.g. Spirit, Pride, Wanderers
* Everyone who suggested a name got booed
* They love football (ORLY?)
* Culture, values, pride, etc
* This gem: "Success is not about winning titles, it's not about winning games"
* And finally... pretty much the only person not to get booed when talking said f**k every second word
Didn't seem to be a lot of talk with any details in it, a lot of blah blah stories about how their kids play or how much they love football or whatever.
Does anyone think they will come up with anything decent from these forums?
