Sydney Fc and QLD Roar may be given the chance to play in the ACL next year.
The ACL is set to expand from a 28-team competition to a 32-team format, but with fewer countries likely to meet the new, more stringent, criteria for participation, it seems likely Australia's quota will rise from two teams to as many as four. Semi-finalists from this season - Sydney and Queensland - could yet gain belated entry into Asia for 2009, with Buckley adding: "The [ACL] sub-committee will be coming here in April to talk more about criteria, and that's when we will make a strong pitch for additional teams."
I hope that the AFC will allow qualifying A-League teams to play in the ACL that follows the same season(Not a year later). If that is the case then shouldn't SFC and Qroar, not be admitted and Version 4 top two teams qualify for 2009. Then the following year have the top four teams play?
FFA please don't let SFC in to the ACL 2009 that is so unfair. They have just spent a $hit load on 3 players and don't need more help from you or F. Lowy. Let QLD in fine, but not Sfc
