As Deej said the big IF is Elrich if he fires and returns to top form we have IMO the best player in the league .......... but recent history ... well lets hope.

We need a RB & Creative mid or as I mentioned in another thread is is Porters time to shine in that role.

Could be the last year we have Jedi to hope not but think so Europe awaits Jedi I think.

Roar, Nix, Victory, Glory & Choppers all seem to have stronger squads this year its going to be a very close season and winning home matches will be vital.

Can hardley wait .......... for season to start.

The article was a nice solid piece JamesH. You've stirred up a little controversy in here which should probably be viewed as a good thing I guess. Anyway, its not unusual; anyone that brings up Kwassie at the moment can expect disagreement, whether you're for him or against him.

I thought Porter at right back linked up really well with Elrich at Mills Park during the first half this week. I certainly felt as though Porter played his best attacking football during the game when he was in that position. Just what that means for us in defence I'm not sure, as the Tigers did tend to stay back in their third for most of the game and, even so, they did make a couple of breaks down that side that looked dangerous.

If Porter is our attacking mid or any where else in our starting line up for that matter we will be fighting it out with who ever for the wooden spoon!!! If jedi is injured or suspended at all this season we are screwed with our mid field options at the moment... lets hope elrich and caceras can fire...

Do you think that there could be an option of getting caceras in to that creative attacking mid field role? Dapuzzo into left mid??

Just an idea if we dont sign anyone

I think you are too quick to take that view with Porter ... he is not proven but then again he has shown promise.  I also think you do Hutch, and even Ossie a disservice.

Hmm considering that we have seen him mostly play in defence in Mariners colours, which is out of position, I would like to see him given a go. Up until his red card last season he wasn't one of the strugglers in the team when he played regularly.

Give him time on the pitch in a midfield role and I dare say he will be more than up to the level required in the A-league.

. yeah very frustrating to see him playing in defence .... especially in trials where you have guys like brownie playing in the midfield

. at least i would like to see the guy given a decent go in his preferred position, but it seems the management have ideas to convert him like ossie - versatility can be a bugger sometimes
