ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

New Owners?

I'm probably an unusual fan in that for me - I've always been a fan of the league before anything else. I just so badly want football to do well in this country.

But if the league chose to let the Mariners go elsewhere, then I sincerely doubt I could ever have any interest in the league again. The Mariners have been such a success story for the league - contributed so much (despite recent years) - so if the league was prepared to cut us loose...

I would not follow the club if it was relocated. I haven't bought season tickets through all these shit years to support a North Sydney club. I'd rather not see a rebrand but i could live with it if the club stays on the coast.
I am afraid I will be following you in the same boat, Not much chance of increasing fan base in the leafy turned up nose suburbs of the Uppya North Shore.

I can see Manchester United investing in us or a number of other clubs. I just don't understand what value there is in rebranding or moving.

We would be cheap and we now have a good academy.

Why would you rebrand? Manchester United is one of the most recognizable brands in the world. There is no reason to rebrand - just use us a a feeder club and we can use them for loan visa players.

Why move to Sydney? Are they really worried about crowd sizes when a properly funded team here will more than hold our own. If they are worried about crowd sizes Brookvale and NSO will not be better.

Are they worried about the media deal and Sydney provides better ratings - no the media deal would be peanuts to them.

One interesting one that Mike Charlesworth has spoken to is Leeds (who he supports). The majority owner there is Andrea Radrizzani

"Andrea Radrizzani who is experienced in media rights in sport. He specialises in digital media and international sports media. During his career Radrizzani has built partnerships with major rights owners including the Premier League, Bundesliga, La Liga, Serie A, UEFA, F1, NBA, NFL and WSBC and clubs including AC Milan and Arsenal. He has negotiated rights deals with Bein Sports, Canal +, ESPN, Eurosport, ITV, CCTV, Direct TV and others. Radrizzani has worked alongside senior executives from the media and finance industries, funds and principals throughout his career"

Hey everyone allay your fears it has been told to me by a damn good authority it is all BULLSHIT. The same arseholes that created a similar rumour a couple of years ago are behind it again.

I assume this was meant for the new owners thread and game day is not all bullshit 🤣

It's funny you know, there's another central coast side that wouldn't need to change colours and the moniker "devils" would fit fairly well........

Bang on PJ.

Taking my yellow glasses off, as a businessman I genuinely don’t believe the Sydney move will improve gate and they will have to spend several million and at least a couple of years just to try and get to where we gave been while at our worst.

Back the club here, dramatically improve game day experiences and market well and you could realistically hope to get 5-7% of coasties to regularly attend and sell out our games. Big crowd games with big active are way more exciting and enjoyable.

Whereas in Sydney now, I don’t know where you think you could ever hope to build a club that will pull over 10k.

Buying land and building the academy etc are all better options here than in North Sydney.

The only real benefit to going to Sydney is being closer to the corporate market but the grounds they’d be playing out of aren’t exactly top tier facilities anyway. Could be an element of arrogance there too believing people will flock to their name on that alone.

Any major corporates that want to connect to a Manchester United club or affiliate wouldn't care where they are based. Anyway it is short sea-plane ride from Rose Bay if you are talking the heavy hitters.

Especially playing out of Brookvale. I can’t see anyone west of Artamon (i.e. ninety percent of Sydney’s population) wanting to make that trek.
