ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Forgetting what anyone may think about the proposed participants I think the concept is right - as is the Champions League tier from the NPL as a forerunner to a National Third Tier Conference League.

While we all what a team to support what the FA is after is developing players for the National teams. i.e. more players (especially young players) playing longer. JJ mentioned loan deals between the ALM and the NST which may be an interim answer.

GA wants us to be playing 10 months a year. If that is to happen I think we really need to align closer to the rest of the football pyramid. That means around a minimum of 40 games.

Assuming you have 16 teams in both the ALM and NST you would have a minimum of 30 rounds. You then have a at least one game for the Australia Cup and then maybe you can have a League Cup with the ALM and NST teams plus maybe the NPL Federations Premier.

That would give a minimum of 32 games.

The better teams would have access to 30 games, an additional 3 games of finals, up to 5 games for the Australia Cup, up to 5 games for a League Cup and at least 6 Asian games.

So the better performing clubs would have access to a potential of minimum of 49 games with the potential of more Asian games. TBH that would be almost impossible to fit in our current mid-October - beginning of June window. A February to November calendar would allow the finals to be played including the Australia Cup Semis and Finals could all be be played at night during the mid October to mid-late November period and we could avoid worst of the heatwave weather followed by a break for December and January. Yes it will still be hot in February and March but we already play then anyway.

Murdoch and his henchmen have no interest in our football now that Foxtel is no longer involved.Would like the A League and the NST to fall over so though they are run by separate organisations they have bundled them together to give the impression that football is failing.
