ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mo-riners in for a hair-raising month (2/11/2009)

The Hyundai A-League will dedicate Round 16 of season five to Movember, the month long charity that raises funds and awareness for mens health, specifically The Prostate Cancer Foundation and beyondblue, the national depression initiative, forming the inaugural Movember Mens Health Round, supported by Australian spring water brand Cool Ridge.

As part of Movember, several Central Coast Mariners players will be cultivating facial growth throughout the month, including left fullback Dean Heffernan.

It could get ugly but its all for a good cause.

Most of the UK boys are doing it, plus theres guys like me and Hutch (John Hutchinson) doing it, so it should be good fun, said Heffernan.

The Mariners players will show off the results during Movember Mens Health round, when they tackle Perth Glory at Bluetongue Stadium on Friday, 27 November.

Players and management from the Hyundai A-League have been active participants and ambassadors for Movember for a few years now, said Head of the Hyundai A-League Archie Fraser.

This year were keen to make a united and official level of support for Movember and its causes. Were only too happy to do this via match day experience and encouraging the players to grow mos and support the cause.

The round, to be called the Movember Mens Health Round, supported by Cool Ridge, includes the Central Coasts home game against Perth Glory at Bluetongue stadium on Friday, 27 November.

Luke Slattery, Movember co-Founder, is grateful to have the support of the players, the Hyundai A-League and FFA to help continue the conversation around mens health.

Part of Movembers mission is to provoke discussion and to get blokes talking about their health and the related issues. By doing this, were able to inform and raise awareness of prostate cancer and depression in men and hopefully, help and extend a few lives along the way.

As well as Heffernan, goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne, along with imports Chris Doig, Nicky Travis, Michael McGlinchey have all shelved their razors for the month, and Heffernan hopes more squad members join the cause.

Being footballers and being professional were in a good position to support causes like this, and thats why its a good thing that the Mariners are on board again, as well as the A-League and Fox Sports. Of course having seven or eight players (participating) will help come the game in round 16 on November 27.

Its going to be a bit different, well have to see if the gaffer (Lawrie McKinna) is doing it, itd be interesting to see his ginger mo, but its all for a good cause, said Heffernan.

Cool Ridge is a major sponsor of Movember and passionate supporter of the Hyundai A-League.  In the spirit of its partnership with Movember, Cool Ridge bottles will feature classic mo styles such as the Magnum, the Chuck and the Mario and 5c from each bottle and six pack sold (up to $100,000) will be donated to the cause.

Will be interesting to see the results at the game...
