Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mariners v Jets

Sparks are set to fly when Central Coast Mariners host Newcastle Jets in the third installment of the F3 Derby at Central Coast Stadium on Friday night.

The Mariners will be out to secure bragging rights after registering one loss and draw in the previous two meetings between the sides throughout the 2019/20 Hyundai A-League season.

These two sides produced one of the most entertaining clashes of the season when they last met in Round 18; seven goals were scored on a wet and wild afternoon in the Hunter with the Jets edging the back-and-forth contest 4-3 to take all three points.

It's been a bleak campaign to date for the Mariners, who extended their current losing streak to 11-straight games when they fell to a 1-0 defeat to Perth Glory last Saturday night.

The defeat ensured the Mariners equalled the worst losing streak in competition history set by the New Zealand Knights in 2005, and the bottom-placed side will need to take maximum points from their clash with the Jets on Friday evening to ensure they don't make that unwanted record their own.

Judas? - and people wonder why questions are being raised about our coach. Let the waste of cap rot - give a kid that spot

They have a finals chance to play for, we have nothing to play for. They were excellent last game against Sydney, we were flat, listless and unmotivated.

Only one way this will go.

What should happen:

Staj brings Hutch in to gee the boys up and remind them that managers, squads and form may change, but FTS never changes. Fired up, the team go out and put in their most spirited performance of 2020 to snap their losing streak with a win that means (not for the first time) the other mob's finals hopes are extinguished by us.

What will probably happen:

CCM produce a few chances that don't pay off in the 1st half, in the 2nd half the team gives up around the 70th minute mark and the Jest capitalise with a flurry of late goals.

I’ll be pleased if we just have a couple of shots. I don’t even care if they are on target. Just something that resembles a couple of shots will do me fine.

I can almost excuse Melling cause his poor passes are longer with little options.

Sam Silvera however in the last 3 games has lost possession easily or failed to perform short passes over 50 times!

Yet runs past one player once a game and seems not to be called out for every single other loss of ball.

Are commentators instructed to now go easy on younger up and coming players so they are not shown in a poor light and don’t discourage viewership that the league is so terribly poor in quality.
