Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

His transfermarkt page isnt great reading. If you arent getting a run in the hole WU found themselves in earlier this year what does that say? He's played just over an hour for them since arrival. German 4th tier before that. 5 goals 4 assists since 16/17. Less than underwhelming, feels like an old CCM deal tbh but obviously we see something others dont.
Squaddie with potential, I think it's great to have squad depth, amazing actually given past years of misery. Looks like he's got good touch.

German 4th tier with the U20 team of an excellent bundesliga side, don’t down play it too much.
he has the tools, just needs the right mentality. Let’s wait and see.

While that is true John Aloisi's opinion on young players can be summed what he said pre game a few weeks ago against Victory, about Milanovic. "I don't want to start young players because it puts too much pressure on them". This man has absolutely no idea how to handle young players and leaves anyone under the age of 25 to rot on a bench.

And the return he's getting from guys over 30 is so valuable.

Yeah this literally says it all about aloisi and young players. Add that to the fact his regular 11 has 6-7 players over 32.

We are the place to be for young Australian players… FACT

Still gutted for Tapp, this season could have been a breakout for him and would have added a lot to the squad depth. Anyone got any news on how his recovery is going? @priorpeter ?
Recovery is going really, really well, and is a fair bit ahead of schedule. Monty and the rest of the staff are really pleased with him and his progress. We won’t see him this season unfortunately, but thankfully he’s on a 2 year scholarship; I have no doubt he’ll break through next season.

Can anyone explain if there is a material difference between being on a scholarship contract vs being on an NPL contract with the club?

And does anyone know who the current scholarship players are apart from the above 3 and Tapp?
