Glory to play in China

    February 16, 2008

PERTH Glory will play three matches in China next month, taking on three of China's Super League teams in a move seen as further strengthening the club's ties within Asia

Glory has strong corporate connections throughout the region with Chinese Steel manufacturer Delong Holdings a joint major sponsor of the club this season.

The squad will leave on February 29 and play three matches in seven days against 2007 Chinese Champions Changchun Yatai and Super League sides Changsha Ginde and Guangzhou.

Glory Coach Dave Mitchell said he will use the tour to trial several prospective recruits for next season.

Ivory Coast striker Eugene Dadi will also be included in the touring party as he looks to secure a place in Glory's squad for next season.

The team will be based in Shanghai and will also take part in several official functions as part of the tour.

Yeah Perth really need to step up soon or the standard will be several leagues in front of them. Hopefully this can help them catch up to the rest of the pack. I hope Wellington do something similar although they have a better reason for being so far off the pace.

the nix sure up their defence and they will be fine.

Perth can come good this season. All the off-field stuff is behind them. That has to help

Not sure on that Jesus, I read somewhere that one of the owners is trying to get out of the partnership (Sage?).
