So releasing them doesn't kick you in the butt because they have something to prove against you and score the winner against you. Pretty common in the premier league.
Nothing worse than loosing to the guy you just let go so they usually wait out the season so they don't get burnt. Usually only happens on mid season transfers

if it was a loan deal ...[maybe] fair enough, but, CCM is paying Fabio, so I think the "agreement" shouldnt apply...it is a business after all, no other business makes a bloke go on holidays after they head hunted him so the opposition dont get offended
