ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Back to the Future - New Radio Sponsors 2GO & Sea

Heartily agree with all the comments.

Was so pissed off hearing all the NRL coverage and discussions of selections and injuries etc etc...
And we have to get a sponsorship deal to even get them to talk about us, and then it's just usually a short scripted promo of the next game or a SHIT interview where they ask a Mariners player what his favourite NRL team is.

Was a big sigh of relief to hear the news.
Though, yes, the game day staff were good I thought also.

Always thought the SeaFM/2GO partnership fit a similar demographic to the people who come to the Mariners games...

2GO has always been for the older population with families set up who just want to get out and do something on a Saturday night

SeaFM is for the younger teenage population who suddenly may find it cool again to go to the games if they hear when the next game was on after Lady Gaga played

Star always seemed to me more for the young adult/testosterone fuelled males who seem more league oriented and may not have much time/money/care factor to go attend..

Of course not everyone is like what I wrote but it's always seemed pretty simple marketing to me

In reality the demographic of Star was the demographic the Mariners were targeting and they had the highest ratings in this demographic. Not any more I think.

The young "testosterone" male does not listen to radio any more. They have music more accessible on line and on their ipods/iphones.

I echo other people's calls to have Steve Allen as ground announcer.

But Mick, the Coast has a team the local media want to highlight. Its the Bears, y'know.

2011 is the year of the Bear apparently.............

Have we changed radio stations again... can't find the main thread ... have found this one and the following link http://ccmfans.net/board/index.php/topic/2687-starfm-seafm-2go-coast-fm/page__hl__radio__st__20

A recent article on the club web site indicates we are back with Star ... or is that Star & GO acting as one...

I only see reference to Sea FM on that article?

Star and 2GO don't act as one. Sea and 2GO do as they both come under the Southern Cross/Austereo umbrella.

Sea FM mentioned a couple of times there...

On Tuesday, Central Coast Mariners Dutch defender Patrick Zwaanswijk was the unsuspecting victim of some first-class teasing from his teammates.

With the boys having worked with club radio partner SEA FM to stitch-up the former FC Utrecht stopper with a ‘Gotchya Call’, Zwaanswijk could have been forgiven for believing he may have had to find a new boot supplier for Hyundai A-League season 8.

To his credit, big Zwaany took the gag in his normal good-natured way (ultimately, at least!) and gave us the go-ahead to share the joke online.

Enjoy.
