He seems to be one of those rare cases (Maldini and Kahn being the other two examples that come to mind straight away) of a player who plays/played a key role at such an advanced age for their club - not one to accept bit roles off the bench, or take the money and spend your days providing sub par assists for Landon Donovan in L.A. - he got the assist for the second goal in that Roma game...... not too many 34 year olds running around whom you could say are single handedly dismantling a top Serie A club by themselves.
