ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I don,t think we need to worry about any of them to be honest. We are also light years away from where we were even 5 years ago.

Exactly - football is on the right track and can learn from where the other codes go right/wrong. Melbourne media is sooooo pro AFL, that is all you ever hear about. They have massive membership bases and attendances. But has anyone mentioned the fact that if anything Melbourne Victory is the one competing directly against the full force of the AFL, and whaddaya know, they have 22,000 members and a 26,000 average crowd...

Just reading back and I missed that I got credit for saying something I didn't...

I said they hype a lot of things when as you point out there is no great need to given their already strong position.

If they stop and say "look how good we are, we're top now, we can have a break" then that's when things will go up the shit. They need to keep pushing their brand, evolving, coming up with new ideas, creating excitement *cough* hype, otherwise they will drop off.

I am a little bit puzzled how the A-League comes out with a big season launch every year but then that's the last we hear about it! I'm sure this is to do with the relative size of their advertising budgets, but still... it's like they go into radio silence once the season has started.
