ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Last night I thought I was just about over the Covid. Unfortunately this morning symptoms have flared again.
I have therefore decided it will be safer for all if I do not attend the Club's premier social event of the season tonight.
Have a good time, I will watch you all on the tv broadcast of the festivities.

I suspect this is just another indication of the mess Piel left when he bailed and emptied the til.

I suspect he realised he was in over his head and called in "professional management consultants" (see the CCM mountain bike doc.) to run the place. They found the problem was that the football staff was not connecting with the office staff and got rid of everyone, employed expensive corporates with impressive but meaningless CVs and the place became a complete shambles. Piel realis3ed it wasn't working and walked and handed the shambles back to Charlesworth who has been working with shaun to sort out the mess and to try to find people who know what they are doing to fill the holes on a very tight budget.

This may not be exact, but I bet it is not too distant from the truth.

This event is just another victim.
Pretty much.
Peil hired 4 x +150k employees. Club could not afford it. So they had to get rid.
Unfortunately at the moment it seems staff weren't/aren't clued in on things that had partially been organised by previous staff, I'm hoping/under the impression next season should be better organised. Because at the moment. It's a little embarrassing.

Thanks Jimmy. If you are correct , though embarrassing it is better than the organisation just being a shambles without a reason.

On fan appreciation there have been some great ideas on this thread.
I particularly liked the idea of getting all the remaining foundation members together for some form of informal function/get together where we can reminisce about he "good old days".

I also like the idea of small acknowledgements for 10, 15, 20, 25year continuous memberships. It can be surprising how little it can take to swing a member who is doubtful of renewing.

If you can take these ideas to the Club when they are suitably organised I think it would be worthwhile.

All the best tonight.

You raise some valid points there.
