Correct. From tomorrow if I recall Monty’s press conference correctly? He will miss about 5 games. Much to Monty’s fury.
Team assembles in Uzbekistan today. Pool matches 1, 4 and 7 March. Final 18 March so two games if they don't make it out of their pool. 4 games if they make final. They have to make the semis to qualify for the U20s world cup in June.

Just watched the second half (sober) and see no reason to change my initial impression that we were not that bad. In fact that performance was better than some of our recent ordinary games.
We looked very open in the second half but that was because we were playing high attacking football going for the win. Very dangerous, hard on the nerves, but wonderful stuff.
Pleasing stuff:
We now have some very good subs which showed the wisdom of the January movements.
Impressed with all of them and happy to see Moresch back on the pitch.
Swap Fazz for McGary and that 11 who started along with Dan Hall (hopefully) are the only real starting players in the squad at this stage.
Hopefully we see these subs progress and develop some match fitness quickly to be starters.

My points
Nizz 3, this man is a Napoleon of football.
Silvera 2, massive threat all night right to the death. We can appear toothless without him.
Theoharus 1, I do not like giving points to subs, but this guy is a bundle of energy and a frightening (to oppositions ) impact sub. Where has he been hiding?

Yes, I remembered that after my initial post and that's why I mentioned this set piece later with an 'oops'.
Did anyone count how many corners we had? I'm surprised we didn't score even one goal from them
Don't know the number but it was heaps, my view on the large number of short corners is at first taking long ones we never won the ball, the only person who won a header was Faz later on, so perhaps that's why we did so many short. We had success in the past with training ground varieties, so maybe that's why they did so many, and then you have the Garry involved only for 2 weeks and looked to me he wasn't sure what was happening with the short corners.

The analysis also needs to be how many short corners amounted to anything. Sides are expecting them and our players (and others on teams that do them frequently) are constantly complaining wanting the marker pushed back a bit further often with little success. So we often take short corners with little room to move and they dont result in high quality attacks due to that pressure. At least getting the ball in there you open up the chance of a mistake to pounce on.

Overall across the league short corners do not appear to be very successful.

100%, I think we do so many now every opposition expects them from us and they purposely delay our corners or make then more difficult by not standing back and double teaming us. It's not as if we don't have any height, Kaltak, Hall, Nectar, Faz, Beni all offer some options at corners. Was super frustrating in this game, it was like Glory kept kicking it our for corners as we were minimal threat from them.

I think we were trying short corners because we don't have the height that they do.
They just stayed in a tight bloke and we could play through them

It appeared to me in general that corners seemed to be taken short from one side of the field and long from the other.
I also got the impression that Tulio convinced some who were going lost to go short.
Just impressions. I am definitely not watching the game again to do and accurate count.

Wind related possibly because I thought they mentioned a breeze.
