Anyone care to speculate on starting line ups?

Honestly actually feel like we're pretty stacked in most positions.

Seems like Ballard and Nisbet are competing for the one spot sadly

Way too many variables and we have not seen a lot of the pre season games. Not sure Tulio will walk into the starting side with only three weeks training with the squad. We have better depth than last season so that it is major plus, there will always be suspensions and unfortunately injuries. CD and Kuol in Roos camp for a week now as well. If fit and ready I only see Faz, CD and Beni as certain starters in their favoured positions. Kelechi if he has recovered from his injury so there may be some surprises in game 1.

Feels like we may be better off with a formation change to 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1.

Midfield - Forwards
Ballard - Nisbet
Nkololo Tulio Ayongo
Cummings

Then Ruhs, Silvera, Kuol and others off the bench.

Monty mentioned he’ll be part of the front 3…
We’ve needed to be more flexible in our tactics since Staj first came. Too often the 4-4-2 gets over loaded and stretched.

but honestly, how hard is it to tell your fan base how long a new signings contract is for? This is far from the first time we’ve signed a player and had to guess how long their contract is for.

I think it may be more to do with juggling the visa players. We will have Tulio, Kelechi John, Nkololo, Ayongo, Moresche (injured) and Kaltak (injury replacement).

What happens when Moresche comes back? What happens if he doesn't come back? I've heard that there has been interest for Beni - what if he goes?

We may be deferring a longer term decision until January when we may lose both Beni and Garang.

Harry Steel is in the mix and Triantis has also played there in trials. I think last season Monty played James Bayliss there too. Has also trialled some academy boys

Arnold had most success with the 4 2 3 1 with Monty & Hutch as the two deep mids....

Can see this formation working....

In attack Nkolo & Ayongo push up and Farrell and whoever is RB also push up

My assumption is that we're planning for Beni to go in January.

That's my assumption as well but he could get injured, have a form dip or we don't get an acceptable offer - so we would have to release Kaltak and that might leave us a bit light at the back
I don’t expect Moresche to play much of the season and at best perhaps the last month or two as he suffered the injury late in the last season. I feel that is why Kaltak was signed as an injury replacement, why bother if Moresche is back in say January with the WC break.

It’s actually crazy how deep our front and back line look.

I agree the above is in the ballpark, but think we potentially have a second 11 of

sozer
Kuzevksi Hall Triantis storm
Steel Bayliss
Kuol Ruhs moresche Tulio

As many have mentioned, It’s really the midfield we lack depth. I would really love for the rumours of Jordan Lynden to be true. Man he would round out this squad.

Seems as though Moresche may have helped getting Tulio here, they played together as teens. Sergio being Portuguese will also help the transition period.

vuka
Aquilina Hall Kelechi Fazz
Tulio Max niz Beni
Cumdog Ruhs
is my personal preference if Monty’s keeping the 4 4 2

Silvera, Ayongo and garang rotating in to start and off the bench is very exciting. Hopefully the defenders we have, stay fit and suspension free.

I do hope Monty has come around to a 4-3-3 though. We have the players for it.
