Good game by us. Good crowd too maybe 2,500 to 3,000 in freezing wet conditions and a log jammed F3.
Quite an aggressive game from both sides. City ARE dirty but we gave it to them in return.
Vuko 7.5. One lazy attempt at a save when the ball hit the crossbar, apart from that it was all good. In fact as the game went on he got better and better. Great signing.
Roux 7. He was pretty good and put in a big shift.
John 7.5. Looks the goods to me. Big and strong and likes to bring the ball forward.
Triantis 7.5. I was surprised to see him start in front of Kaltak but he did well. Played 20 mins in CM in 2nd half and was strong there as well.
Farrell 8. Set up the first goal with a lovely through ball. His passing was sweet. Nabbout only turned him once to make space for shot that smacked into the crossbar. Apart from that he was excellent.
Beni 7.5 Livewire performance.
Steele 6.5. Has a nice touch but needs to be more dynamic and link up better with our attack. I can see he has talent.
Max 8. This bloke is really starting to show his class.
Silvera 8.5 MOM. This kid is a talent. He showed no respect to City and went very close on a few occasions and one Beckham like shot from 45m (when Glover was wandering around like a lost window licker) got the crowd out of their seats. Also showed plenty of fight and massive workrate.
Cumdog 7. Looks good but just marginally off the pace.
Ayongo 6.5. He is not Urena in terms of class but his workrate is fantastic and he did some lovely things. He had a brain freeze once or twice in dangerous positions. Probably more promising than Beni and Cy at this stage last season....so could be a weapon for us.
Subs.
Aquilina. 7.5. Good 45 mins. Set up the 2nd goal with a lovely steal and a superb pass. Can be sucked inside if the CB's are not picking up themselves or not calling Beni to pick up the loose player.
Hall 7. Good 30 mins at CM and did pretty well.
Ruhs 7.5. The boy is a handful. Scored the 2nd.
Kuol 6.5. Only got 15 mins. One brilliant cover tackle got the crowd up off their feet.
Kaltak 7.5 Didnt put a foot wrong. # Sign Brian.
Very good arvo of Footy followed by a lovely feed at the Chinese in the Leagues (booked out!)
Curtis Good was a rock for City but apart from maybe 15 mins we were the better side. Hats off to Monty again.
